Negative.
Employer made me get the test because I have a cough. I was going to do it anyway. I self reported the cough and arranged the test at Stanford thinking they would be fast. The 12-24 hour turn around was about 54 hours and my internist had to track it down. Still not showing up on my Stanford portal. Sitting around at home the last 2 days was pretty boring. At least I get to go to work tomorrow.

(And FWIW, I've been sneezing and coughing for much of the past four weeks due to spring blooms coming early with lots of warm sunshine and little (until this week) rain. Every time I take claritin & sudafed, it seems to go away for the rest of the day.)

I kind of knew my issue was allergies. But proof needed for my job.

Good to hear. Hopefully tests can continue being given to people in high risk scenarios because I know some tested negative a few times before testing positive, like on the Cruise ship in Japan and some cases I remember reading about in Asian countries.
We are all statistically more likely than not to be infected, but we all hope to avoid complications, and certainly getting it when past surge capacity to handle us.
I did read a preliminary study that suggested people with Type A blood are more susceptible to worse outcomes from Covid-19 than those with Type O blood. The conclusion was based on samples of 1,8000 patients, so the researchers suggested to check blood type and prioritize type A and AB blood types over O types if rationing care.

Did the study have any comments on Type B patients and their vulnerabilities? I'm A+, so I'm already resigned, but Mrs. Mick is B+. So I'm curious.

I think the blood type study is most likely BS, but if you're curious, there was no difference in outcomes for B patients. Just better for O, worse for A. But again, probably BS.

"Stanford pathologist Benjamin Pinsky built an in-house test that has been approved for use by the federal Food and Drug Administration. Since March 3, Stanford has used it to test more than 500 patients, 12% of whom had tested positive as of Tuesday."
Stanford was saying they were ramping up to do 1000 per day. I suspect the number is as low as it is because the guidelines say don't test unless someone has symptoms etc. Yet the article seems to suggest capacity to test is an issue. These two things don't go together. Further, Quest in SLO can supposedly also do 1000 test per day. As of right now, it doesn't seem to me that testing as such is the issue. It may be the logistics of collecting the samples and reporting the results isn't up to the capacity of the testing labs???

In the highly impacted areas, they should be bringing in supplies and medical personnel from areas.

I was told that Stanford started getting so many samples that they could not process them as fast as they came in this week. There was also a brief time where they didn't have anyone to put the results into the computer. Which is why my test took 54 hours to come in. My results still aren't showing in my health. My internist had to get them to enter the result into my Stanford chart, at which point he was able to get into the EHR and see it.
We're not throwing away our N95's unless we have a definite exposure. I'm rotating 5 masks - one per day. I figure most viruses are dead after a week of sitting around in a plastic bag.

Actually, I've got 8 more at home. Bought a box of 20 last summer knowing we would have more forest fires coming. The air in the Bay Area was awful as usual. Only used 2 for the fires. Also gave one to each kid, my wife, and my daughter's boyfriend.
