Cal Poly with Napa’s Torry Von Winden just beat Georgia in 5 after being down 2-0.
Stanford will start at 7:40 vs Denver

Stanford takes the first set 25-20. Give Denver some credit, they fought hard, but not enough for the Kathryn Plummer show: 7 kills in 10 attacks with no errors. .700 hitting percentage.

Plummer has 9 kills in 12 attacks. The last one, a back row kill was amazing.

Stanford takes the second 25-11. WE hit .467 in the second set. Plummer at one point had three consecutive aces.

25-15 in the third. Denver kept it close and then Stanford shut the door.

Up 2-0 vs Cal Poly.
But yesterday Cal Poly was down 0-2 and came back to beat Georgia, so here's hoping we keep the pedal to the metal.

Stanford wins the 1st two sets vs. Cal Poly, 25-13, 25-16. Seems to be cruising tonight.
In the other part of Stanford's bracket, Utah is up on BYU 2 sets to none. Penn State lost the first set vs. Towson, then swept the next three. And in the first major upset of the tournament, Cincinnati upset 6th seeded Pittsburgh in 5 sets.

Ron Dayne playing volleyball is kind of a scary thought.

Tonight at 5 it’s Cincy against Penn State then at 8 it’s Stanford vs Utah
We have beaten Utah twice at home in 5 at Utah in 4
In the game at home vs Utah we were without Plummer

I didn't realize Utah destroyed BYU so thoroughly. Is BYU down some top players or did Utah just "click"? They could be a scary opponent if they beat a fully loaded BYU. They were already a concern.
