Garvin, any Dana Delaney requests? - GoodGrief - 08-12-2011

Hey Garvin-

I'll be shooting an episode of Body Of Proof on Monday and I've got a scene with some actress that you may have heard about named Dana...somethingoranother. Let me know if you have any requests for a certain type of picture or whatever. Or should I just tell her "Hi" from her favorite stalker in Miami?

Btw, for Garvin, Redrum, Fullmetal, Peflores, and any of the other CardBoarders that I met in Miami at Garvin's awesome diner that served the freakin' incredible Apple Pie Blended Into A Milkshake--sadly, the pilot that I was cast in did not get picked up. from http://www.deadline.com/2011/01/abc-family-greenlights-3-new-series-one-comedy-and-two-dramas/ : Surprisingly, among those not going to series is the drama pilot from Brenda Hampton, creator-executive producer of ABC Family's flagship series The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
:P

I love Body of Proof and Dana is perfect in it. Let us know more about the episode you're shooting when you can.

Tell her I still need a date for the Rose Bowl =  May I  suck on your charming little toes?

It is a very smart show and Dana is great in it. I'd love to tell you more about the episode, but producers are big on confidentiality, to the point where sometimes my scripts have "GOODGRIEF" watermarked over every page in case it ever winds up on ebay.

Here's what I can say about the episode:
Somebody dies.
But there's more to the death than meets the eye.
Could it be murder?
But who? And why? And how?
Megan Hunt is smart.

Umm, that probably wasn't all that helpful...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to mention either of those things to her when I shoot tomorrow...

Let's see.  The shoot was yesterday and we still haven't heard how it went from GoodGrief.  Either it went very, very wrong when he used one of Garvin's pickup lines or he and Dana are still together and trying to avoid being caught by the paparazzi.  I'm going with option two because I want the excitement that follows when another man gets between Garvin and his darling Dana.  :o

Cheers,
Pete F.

That was my very first Big Game - at Berkeley. It was epic and I fell in love with the Big Game and over the years have concluded that the best Big Games were always at Cal. I was traveling with the wrestling team to compete that day at Cal and remember squeezing into the end zone seats. I think we stood the entire game. It was packed. I remember Steve Bartkowski driving Cal a long way down the field before hitting Steve Rivera in the end zone with about 25 seconds left to come from behind. The stadium was going nuts. Then after the kick off Guy Benjamin drives Stanford down the field with a couple of passes and the Langford lines up for a 50 yard field goal - which back then was pretty uncommon. The place was electric. And he kicked it old style - straight on. From the end zone we could see it sail through - and we rushed the field and the Cal side was silent. It was great!

Found this archived article on SF Gate from the Daily Californian: The 1974 Big Game: Last-Second Kick Breaks Bears that details the 77th Big Game. Enjoy!

Sorry for the very late follow-up on this. Having your wedding coming up in a month kinda takes you away from the important things, like Cardinal Football.

So, I finished shooting Body Of Proof, and here's what I have to say. First, Dana Delaney http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_Delany--Wow. Stunning eyes. I can see why Garvin's got the big crush on her. Sonja Sohn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonja_Sohn has the most ridiculous cheekbones and that sort of perfect skin that seems to glow. And John Carroll Lynch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carroll_Lynch, while perhaps not quite as beautiful as Dana or Sonja, was just an awesome guy to be around. When you're coming in to act on one episode of a show, it feels like being at a party where everybody else knows each other: You feel awkward and out of place; and while you may find out that the other guests at the party are perfectly nice people, it's so helpful when one of the guests introduces himself first and talks to you. For me, John Carroll Lynch was that person--really warm and friendly, told me about how he did theatre in Minnesota for years and then got on the radar from his role in Fargo as Frances McDormand's stamp-designing husband.

Anyway, really great bunch of people on a great show with a great on-set atmosphere. And I'm not just saying that. You can genuinely tell when a show has a bad vibe. There's a negativity (frequently tension, fear, and/or fatigue) amongst the cast & crew that's almost palpable, so it's nice to do your work in a good environment.

I'm sorry for my cowardice--I considered relaying Redrum's and Garvin's charming comments to Dana, or asking her to take a picture with a magazine cover of Andrew Luck and a Stanford cap over those lovely tresses. However, I was told that my role may likely recur, so I figured discretion was the better part of valor--let's not give them any reason to keep GoodGrief off the show...

And I clearly haven't figured out how to properly embed a hyperlink into the actual text of my post. Oh well, I've got an audition to prepare for. I'll learn later...

Along those lines, nothing quite demonstrated the age gap between me and my fiance than her astonishment when I mentioned to her that I saw Star Wars in the movie theatre when it first came out...
