Travelin' Tate wanders into our neighborhood - Redrum - 07-27-2011
Tate Forcier is headed to San Jose St.   From University of Michigan to SJSU.  Big Ten to the barely-football-eligible WAC.
Will sit out this year, eligible in 2012.  San Jose recently picked up another transfer from the Big Ten, the leading rusher for the Univ. of Minnesota ( DeLeon Eskridge) who got sick of frostbite and returned home to Calif. San Jose could be much better in 2012 and simply better 2011.  Forcier, at very least, will provide some competition among some young QBs at what was a position of weakness for them. But, as Buddy and Wlat proved, a weak OL can make a QB look bad, and that's been SJSU's problem too.

I don't feel any need to panic either - Redrum - 07-27-2011
It's just that San Jose is in a race with oblivion, yearning to join the Mountain West conference, but was humiliatingly
not invited to the prom along with Nevada, Boise, Hawaii and Fresno.  Meanwhile, they hired Mike MacIntyre, who isn't exactly SJSU's Harbaugh, but looks to be doing the right things.  If we don't thump them emphatically this year,Â
then I'll panic.

Mike McIntyre seems like a good guy, but SJSU is a tough situation for any coach.
With the departures of Boise St., Fresno St., Hawaii, and Nevada, the WAC in 2012 will be arguably the worst Div. I BCS football conference (the Sun Belt Conference is the other contender). The WAC's 2012 football line-up currently looks like this (with the WAC looking for 1 or 2 more football members):
San Jose St.
Idaho
Utah St.
Louisiana Tech
New Mexico St.
Texas St. (moving up from FCS)
Texas San Antonio (playing its first year of football in 2011)
For basketball, the conference also will include:
Seattle
Denver
Texas Arlington
I guess the good news is that SJSU might be able to have some success in that conference. The bad news is that nobody will care.
