Not my title or my doing.

Oregon has won this award since it was instituted, so this is really quite an accomplishment!

Most of the SEC T&F powerhouses don't choose to use their T&F scholarships to acquire distance/XC runners, and many do not fully embrace the Indoor T&F season, as it has a more balanced mix of sprint and distance events, and far fewer field events.

Hence, this award is for overall excellence, kind of a mini-Directors Cup for Track and Field, and is quite a feather in the cap for our AD and T&F coaches.

Plus our weight events coach just named assistant of the year

In other news our former HC Floreal just named HC at Texas

Award certainly well earned. Consistently had athletes ready for big meets!

Floreal news a big deal! UT must have thrown a prodigious wad of cash at him! NCAA championships scheduled for Austin the next two years while Eugene rebuilds Hayward Field. Looks like UT wants to be a player right now! Floreal will have UT contending/winning Big12 championships immediately and national contenders almost as soon. Whew.

Very curious as to what will happen with his elite talent @ UK. Will McLaughlin simply go pro or transfer. Ditto many others.

Will we be seeing home & home dual meets with UT in the near future - those would be awesome!

Norman and McLaughlin have signed pro contracts

RE: Track & Field - unclechuck - 06-13-2018

Geeze Bob, nothing getting by you!

McLaughlin & Norman going pro are nothing but good news for us! Hope Benjamin follows along! Maggie Ewen graduating also a significant addition by subtraction for our women's team.

McLaughlin's one & done doubtlessly made it easier for Floreal to move on. Wonder if she relocates to Texas to train with him. SEC awfully tough for him to shine, but I'm guessing he shows up kicking ass & taking names in Big12.

Quote:Stanford has been rated as the best overall women's program in the nation as determined by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, and the Cardinal men were ranked No. 3. Combined, there is none better than Stanford.

Taking into account NCAA team finishes in cross country, and indoor and outdoor track and field, the Stanford women received the Terry Crawford Program of the Year award. Stanford was the only school to have programs in the top three of both the men's and women's standings.
