Greg St. Claire of the Avenir Restaurant Group in San Carlos said in an email that a transfer of ownership [of the Alpine Inn] was expected in mid-December, but has since said that the deal has not closed.

As of now, the sign on the front of Zott's says that they will re-open March 1st. Like most repair/remodels, they undoubtedly uncovered many problems that they did not include in the initial time estimate. From what the workers say, this current set of changes is mostly designed to correct defects in the existing structure and to improve ADA compliance. There are future plans to expand the facility, but the existing structure must be preserved. It cannot be replaced. Looks like things are moving ahead, and they might actually make March 1.

To clarify the above, the web site indicated a July 15th re-opening for about a month and a half. It is now back to an unspecified date. The construction/repair is still ongoing, and visually looks nowhere near close to done. Maybe August 15th, but I doubt sooner. It may be closer to ready than it appears, but based on appearance, there is still lots to do. There are many brand new picnic tables stacked up by the fence. It appears that construction is ongoing on a new roof for a covered area in the "outdoor" portion of the eating area. The main building got painted recently.

I got some "ground truth" this afternoon. I visited the site, and in the words of someone who is part of the management (or pretends to be) " We intend to be open in about three weeks. We have a couple of sign-offs that we need to get. Bear with us, and we hope to be selling some beer soon!". If this is correct, that would be about August 1st. The inside looks close to done, but more work on the floor is needed. The outside paint job, including a new "Rossatti's" sign, is ready to go. Should be "soon".

Through August 26th hours are:
Tuesday - Sunday 5pm to 10pm
Monday - Closed

After August 27th hours are:
Tuesday - Friday 11:30am to 10pm
Saturday and Sunday 11am to 10pm

the menu is now on their website, it appears to be significantly improved and the prices seem pretty reasonable.
