PAC-12 honors - BostonCard - 11-28-2017

They should be announced As early as today.  Stanford should feature heavily.

Good case for Shaw to be a candidate for coach of the year.  I would say Helton and Rich Rod would be the other candidates, with Helton likely the favorite.

Love has to be the favorite for offensive player of the year.  I assume Tate would also merit consideration.

Although Phillips and Reid would be candidates for defensive player of the year, I’m guessing it will go elsewhere.  Maybe Hercules Ma’Atafa.

On offense, Love is a shoe-in for first team.  Beyond him, I would guess a couple linemen will merit consideration for first or second team (maybe Bright, Herbig; Little might have but for his injury).  JJAW is a good bet for second team, and maybe Schultz (but hurt by the dilution of his productivity by the other tight ends.

On defense, figure Phillips, Okerke, Reid, and maybe Meeks to be first teamers.

Bailey as punter?  He leads the conference at 45 yard average.  Scarlett as a second team returner?  He has more 30+ kickoff returns than anyone in the conference, but is fourth in average yards.

Brandon Simmons for first team on special teams. He was honorable mention last year and I thought he deserved better.  He is a beast on kick coverage.

I’d add Irwin and maybe Smith to HM.  But I like your list.

I could see some more offensive linemen getting in there somewhere, and people forgot Marx. I can’t think of a better fullback.

Re: PAC-12 honors - Hulk01 - 11-29-2017

Burkett honorable mention.
Okereke honorable mention but clearly rising.
Bailey might edge out Utah's Wishnowsky, but the Ute gets lifetime achievement points here.
Simmons has to make it, but some spectacular kid might push hm to second team The gunner on two special teams for the best special teams in the conference?  Has to be there.
