Total NCAA championships - terry - 04-16-2011
The schools with the most NCAA championships are:
106 UCLA
100 Stanford
92 USC
50 Oklahoma St.
42 LSU
41 Arkansas
40 Texas
40 Penn St.
37 North Carolina
33 Michigan
What stands out to me is that UCLA, Stanford, and USC are so far ahead of everyone else. It\'s really quite impressive.

UCLA almost added another today.
The Bruins finished 2nd to Alabama in women\'s gymnastics.

UCLA or the SEC. Â I understand the desire to catch UCLA, but I really do not enjoy knowing a title went to the SEC instead.

One of the benefits of Bama\'s football power - Redrum - 04-17-2011
They do not have funding problems.  If  Title IX dictates they must have a certain number of women\'s programs,  then they will do it right if the coach can convince the athletic director.  Apparently the AD was convinced and Alabama has aggressively built its women\'s program over the years.  Apparently having virtually no admissions problems pays off, although it would not surprise me if-- following the national collegiate trend-- the women gymnasts graduate at a higher rate than the athletes in Alabama\'s men\'s program.

UC East Bay likes to focus its national championship efforts on non-NCAA sports that other schools have as club sports.
