College gameday talking Stanford/Rice - washingtonismoney - 08-31-2017

Lotta guys picking Stanford to win the conference. "They look like they were doing their curls and squats in the offseason," said Kirk Herbstreit, grinning.

These are of the same cut as the folks fawning over U$C...and UW hasn't disappeared yet.  It'll be a tough road.

I appreciate the sentiment, but Herbie has no idea how few curls & squats are a part of being Turley Trained

Squats are certainly on the Turley menu, but I would concur (arm) curls are probably not.

UW may be in the process of disappearing.  But for a punt return for a touchdown, they would be down 7-3 to Rutgers, possibly the worst FBS team in the country.

Game 1 can be such a crap shoot. Remember Northwestern?  There were people saying Stanford would go 3-9.  Suicide watch was on.

It was very impressive how sharp Stanford was vs Rice.  And that is a positive on the one hand. On the other hand I'm not sure it means a whole lot

Re: College gameday talking Stanford/Rice - fullmetal - 09-01-2017

It means Stanford hasn't taken a step backward, which is good.  Beyond that...let's see how U$C fares this weekend.
