Sun Bowl Game Thread - OutsiderFan - 12-30-2016

Since I didn't see a game thread yet, I'm taking the initiative.

Not super excited for this game.  I'm most interested to see if Keller Chryst shows some continued improvement, and hopefully see Donald Stewart get some balls thrown his way.  Maybe possibly see if Curtis Robinson has earned more PT as a pass rusher as well.

Oh, and it would be nice for the six rotating ILB experiment to die in favor of just four.  I don't even care who they are, just cut down on the rotation so they can get in more of a rhythm.  That said, I'm thinking Barton and Okereke are the best combo and should get the most PT in 2017, based on what I have gleaned to date.

As I've said before I think it is going to be a good preview of what next year's offense is going to be like.
If we have trouble moving the ball and putting it in the end zone against UNC's defense, I think Shaw is going to have to do some real soul searching in the off season as to what he needs to do to jazz it up.

I disagree too much can be drawn from today on offense.  The OL and QB may look very different in 2017 vs. what we see today.  And Kaden Smith is going to be a big addition, IMO.

Our replacement band looked nice. Identical Stanford sweatshirts. Bright and cheery look. I hope they enjoy themselves. Be interested to hear from people there how they do.

Interesting report by Allie LaForce (sideline reporter) in the pregame re McCaffrey:

First conferred with 15 team leaders to discuss his decision.
When he announced his decision to the team he received a standing ovation.
Coaches requested he not attend the Sun Bowl since he would be a distraction.

Candidly, it just made me sad.  I'd rather have them represent whatever JC or college or high school they're from.

Has bright even played RT this season yet?  What happened to Tucker?
