Other games of interest: Bowl season edition -

K-State just beat Texas A&M, and Northwestern just beat #24-ranked Pitt, which is one of UNC's quality wins. However, Miami (another quality UNC win) beat #14-ranked WVU yesterday.
#22 VA Tech plays Arkansas today at...5:30PM Eastern? UNC lost to VA Tech, and Arkansas is not an impressive team, relatively speaking.
Earlier, NC State (who beat UNC), destroyed Vanderbilt--nothing to be deduced from that.

Not a great bowl season for the Pac12 thus far. Colorado just got whooped by OKSt 38-8.

IIRC, Colorado is still missing Liufau and played their decent (but still a frosh) QB. Optimistically, we can still shrug that off.Â
VA Tech almost lost to Arkansas, who basically gave up a 24 pt lead to the Hokies with the collapse starting around mid-3Q.Â

Liufau was 18-29, 195 yards and scored Colorado's only touchdown on a run.

The Pac-12 is having a really bad showing in the exhibition season. But just like in the NFL, the exhibition season doesn't matter. Only, in college football it does for some reason.Â
And in college football, it's even dumber to count exhibition results, because not only is it an exhibition for all but four teams, these games go a long way to determining how teams are perceived going into the next season, despite the fact they lose about 20% of their roster on average each year.Â

All I care about is if Alabama loses. The SEC folks will melt.Â
But the Colorado loss is making question our own strength.

I dunno. I thought last years Rose Bowl blowout victory, which propelled us to be ranked as the #3 team in the nation, mattered.
I suppose things matter, though, when people decide they do.

Pac-12 teams have been poor in bowl play this year. But SEC hasn't been so hot either:
Mississippi State eked out a win against Miami (Ohio) 17-16.
Vanderbilt trounced by NC State 41-17.
Texas A&M beaten by Kansas State 33-28.
South Carolina beaten by South Florida 46-39.
Arkansas collapsed and got beat by Virginia Tech 35-24 (35-0 second half).
Georgia trailing TCU 16-14 at half as I post this.

By the way... is our win over K State the Pac-12's best out of conference win?

Not sure if this is a rhetorical question, but the answer is (arguably) yes.
No Pac-12 team beat an out of conference team currently ranked in the top 25 by the playoff committee, AP poll or coaches poll. However, KSU was the last of the teams in the AP's "also receiving votes", effectively ranked #38.
The only conference wins of note are our win vs KSU and UCLA and Utah's wins over BYU.
Consensus computer rankings had KSU at #36 and BYU at #40 after the regular season, and both teams won their bowl games.
UCLA's win over BYU was at BYU so there is an argument that it is more impressive than Stanford's home win against KSU, but all things considered the win by Stanford probably ranks slightly higher.

Michigan not there at the OL, QB, or RB spots. Yet, I presume.

Michigan junior Jabrill Peppers will not play for the Wolverines against Florida State in Friday's Capital One Orange Bowl because of an unspecified injury, the school announced.

He had a hamstring injury during the week. Suited up and warmed up on the field but determined that he was not healthy enough to play.

...in a meaningless exhibition game. ;)
Looks like Michigan was completely lost without him in that first quarter. He literally is THE player for Michigan, so his inability to give it a go was a big loss.
I thought the BigTen was the new best conference in football? These BigTen teams still look slow and unable to cover skills position speed. I almost feel sorry for Penn State. (Woof Woof) ;)

Michigan has 10 Senior starters and Peppers is a Junior who almost certainly will be NFL-bound. Will any other team in FBS lose all 11 starters on defense?
Re: Other games of interest: Bowl season edition -

MSU lost almost all their defensive starters this past year and we can all see the results--I"ll assume similar for Michigan next year.Â

Michigan is really struggling vs FSU, still 20-9 with about 4+ minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

OK, Dalvin Cook is making a case for being the #1 RB in the draft. He's a bit bigger than CMac, and a bit more compact. He is also a good receiver.Â
Michigan is in deep trouble.
