Turns out that Chad La Tourette is the son of a lady I knew growing up. Â I THOUGHT that name sounded familiar but it took a while for me to place him with her married name. Â I guess she wasn\'t kidding when she mentioned her son was a good swimmer.

I guess I didn\'t have as much problem with the 5 on 1 3pt attempt. Surely one of the 5 would get the rebound if he missed. It was almost a free attempt (ie, no harm if he missed). Putting this in terms of the women\'s team, I would have no problem with Janette taking a 3 on a 3 on 1 break with Nneka and Kayla under the basket with some opponent.
But that 3 was not to be.

I feel sorta like saying "Welcome to the real world, Stanford." Stanford has SO many national level teams. We fans get spoiled by teams that rarely lose, much less have a 0.500 season (15-15, at this point). Football used to be the notable exception.
Still, one can have higher hopes and, indeed, expectations for the MBB team.

As for men\'s swimming, it is truly amazing, even seemingly unreal. 30 straight years as conference champions is so much better than the WBB team\'s 20 championships of 25, because the PAC-10 is MUCH better nationally in MSw&D.
Of the past 37 national champions in MSw&D, 15 have been from the PAC-10 (from 5 different schools; Stanford 7; USC 4; UCB 2; UCLA 1; Ariz 1). Yes, Stanford has won the conference championships when another team in the conference won the national championship.

Wake up Dawkins...Duke will look elsewhere for Coach K\'s replacement unless you prove yourself worthy.
