Re: Shot/chaser - fullmetal - 11-02-2016

Loved the swing pass for the second TD where the Arizona defense completely forgot to cover CMac.  But yes, that first TD was a thing of beauty.  Everyone blocked.

On that Love sweep, I wonder if he could have set up his block a little better by not swinging so wide right away...our poor LG (with the Superman impression) didn't get to his intended blockee since the defender was taking a better/wider angle to Love.  Still a great play.

I hope the offense looks like this the rest of the year!

The first play was the Pac-12 "Fundamentals Play of the Week"

Nice.

On the sweep, yes, the guard missed his block.  It looked like he hesitated, trying to figure out which Arizona linebacker had the better line, and in doing so wound up caught between the two of them.

Re: Shot/chaser - BigEasyCard - 11-02-2016

Between Washington and Arizona we have seen two extremes in defensive lines:

Washington perhaps the biggest:

And Arizona probably the smallest:

http://www.wildcat.arizona.edu/article/2016/09/defensive-line-isnt-big-thats-a-problem

In any event, the game experience and practice reps should improve the O-line's performance as we move forward.  And we've already played the best-ranked defenses on the schedule.  So, hoping for more highlights like the above this year.

Geaux Cardinal!

The tackler was the safety from the other side of the field, so clearly not a pre-planned LG assignment.  Attempted extra credit though.  The defender who hurdled the LG was too late--got caught up in the LOS from the misdirection and didn't make it out in time.

Is that Hall from the LT position?  Excellent block, imho...though others will have more informed opinions.

You guys are being a little harsh. Left tackle and guard combo blocked the D end, slid off him after forcing him too far inside to catch Love, and then got downfield. If the defender is literally running away from you to get the angle on the RB you've made your block.

Re: Shot/chaser - BostonCard - 11-02-2016

Yes, it was #75: Hall.

And, gocard is correct; the guard and tackle sealed the outside so the downfield block would have been extra credit.  Had he nailed it, Love would have had a touchdown.
