They can't say that about our stadium - Redrum - 09-18-2016

"...including an amazing six false-start penalties in a quaint stadium that wasn’t even full and was rarely loud."

Only we can say that about our stadium.

If it makes you feel better, that was more a shot at SC than it was at us.

The SC folks have a problem with quaint? Better than that place SC rents: http://www.star-telegram.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/gil-lebreton/article95581682.html

I really like Stanford Stadium.  I've been in Memorial, the Coliseum, and the Big House (Michigan), but I like Stanford the best, with the Big House second best.  Two different kinds of experiences, but both really superb.

The NFL can ruin practically everything it touches.  I agree.

PS:  Just to be clear, I, too, love our quaint little stadium and my only gripe is I live too far away to sit in it for half a dozen games or so every football season.

I tell what's quaint--the restrooms in the oaks tailgate/camping area!  Or have those been replaced in the last three years?

Sorry, thunder chik - Redrum - 09-18-2016

This was supposed to be a reply only in a thread below, but turned out to have a life of its own like some sort of zombie that can't be killed.  I tried, Lord knows I've tried.  But in its first life it lives on, finally, in the other thread.  Now, if only I could figure out the magic bullet to kill this one.

Unless they've been replaced in the last three years, the restrooms in the oaks tailgate/camping area around the stadium are hugely quaint.  Heck, they may even have historical landmark status!  Look to be at least 100 years old.

Thanks, just happened to see that after I posted.  I posted a similar comment in the stadium thread...

Redrum, you started both threads! It's not as though you found something to post, and didn't noticed that someone else had already posted on that topic.

Are you forgetting other things?

Quaint is a strange word for Stanford Stadium. It's relatively small, but modern enough since the rebuild. I wonder if the guy who wrote that hasn't been north of LA since the days of the old stadium.
