Bust-but-rare-boom offense - washingtonismoney - 09-03-2016

Stanford gave up 8 plays for loss yesterday -- or about 20% of its plays. Sometimes that's the result of a high-risk-high-rewards offense. But that effect wasn't that strong: only 4 20+ yards plays, or 10% of the time.

Last year, by contrast, 7% of Stanford's plays went 20+ yards, and went backwards 6.6% of the time.

A bunch of those were the result of KSU keying on McCaffrey, weren't they? I was amazed at the number of times he was tackled for a loss. Presumably once Love is in the mix, that won't be as easy for the other team.
