OT: French Open - 2006alum - 05-27-2016

No politics to see here - just wondering if we have any other professional tennis fans on this board? Among Stanford alums, Nicole Gibbs lost a tight three-setter to Heather Watson, but the Bryan Bros are still in the men's doubles. Eager to see if Djoker can finally get the only trophy missing in his cabinet, and if Serena can finally match Graf at 22...

Big tennis fan here...Nadal's withdrawal obviously is the big news and with his and Fed's absence, I think Djokovic has his first French lined up.

The women's game is so unpredictable, especially beyond Serena. Not a big fan of it right now. It's nice seeing new faces, but maddening to watch so much inconsistency. One player has a great couple weeks, then you don't hear from them for months.

Bryan twins in a bit of (relative) slump; they won 3 out of their last 5 tournaments, but haven't captured a Slam in a year of half ('14 U.S.).

Re: OT: French Open - winflop - 05-27-2016

I follow it off & on but I have played USTA leagues for 25+ years now (3.5 and 4.0 levels).

Nadal dropping out of the French is a bummer, but he has been so banged up the last few years I'm not sure he's really going to win much any more.

I love watching Joker.  Murray is just boring as hell.  And the overall state of American tennis other than Serena Williams is pretty shabby overall.
