Has anyone recently heard whether he still is planning to rejoin the team in September?

Last I heard was Shaw stating "the plan" was that he would rejoin the team in time for 2016 Spring Ball. That was about two months ago.

That seems like a departure from the policy that all freshmen start in the Fall quarter. I'm not saying that you're wrong about the facts; I'm just asking whether you know any additional facts that might explain how this situation jibes with the stated rule. For example, maybe he's currently enrolled but not allowed to participate in football activities.

his not very frequently updated Facebook page says he lives in Palo Alto

I would be surprised if Fox were to join the team for spring practice in 2016. He can't practice unless he's enrolled, and he can't enroll as a freshman in mid-year. More likely, I think, is that he will be in camp in the summer.

If he's technically transferring from, say, a junior college I'm not sure that's true.

What/who is Jordan Fox and why all the fuss? As a newbie, bandwagon fan I really don't know.

3-star LB 2015 recruit who signed an LOI with Stanford in Feb and came to campus in the summer, then apparently had some sort of issue that prevented him from enrolling in the Fall, but Shaw said he's still "one of ours."Â

Seems odd. Academic issues. Well, was he admitted or not? The only things I can think of are not graduating HS, or grades crashing in final semester? Failing a required class? Non of our business of course and I wish him well, but sounds weird.

I misremembered; the article says that he will be joining in Fall. Thanks for the link!

I believe the offer of admission can be revoked or contingencies may be applied if one does not do well academically in the semester or quarters following admittance or if the admit participates in misconduct.

This has happened before but I know of only one time. Ironically I met him at a tailgate this season.Â

When my son received his letter, I recall both a letter with official language referring to good academic standing, and an unofficial conversation that had three elements: (a) Don't commit a crime or get suspended, (b) don't drop a class and © don't get a bad grade on a class. I asked what constituted "bad" and they replied "two C's or one D or worse." So it could be any number of things, I would imagine.
