New depth chart - TrumpCard - 11-09-2015

http://www.gostanford.com/pdf9/4082107.pdf

Big news is Edwards gets an OR with Lloyd. A bit surprising right after Lloyd shared DPOW with Solly.
In other news, Davis gets into the two deep. Congrats on the rehab.
In not so news, Meeks is listed ahead of Alexander, and Irwin replaced Jordan.
Still no love for Love anywhere on the depth chart. That should change soon.
Also, Holder is on there, but don't get your hopes up just yet. We will see.

Re: New depth chart - OutsiderFan - 11-10-2015

Stanford is pretty diligent about taking guys off the depth chart when they aren't going to play, so I don't know why there is any reason to think Holder isn't starting.  There isn't even an OR there.

That aside, this looks like the healthiest the team has been all season, just in terms of guys ready to go.  Other than Phillips, all 2016 projected starters are available, and only Eric Cotton has been absent.  What exactly is the issue with Cotton anyway?

As for "Lloyd or Edwards", here's a guess as to what might be at hand.  Ca.l missed a mind bending number of tackles against Oregon.  Edwards may be seen as a better tackler than Lloyd, and his physicality can be helpful against the Oregon run game.

Love isn't on the depth chart because there's no spot for all-around freakin' awesome player with blazing speed and amazing jukes.

Where did they put C-Mac then? I would have C Mac and Love at 1 and 2 at that position

Re: New depth chart - teejers1 - 11-10-2015

I think Edwards will see more playing time as Stanford runs the gauntlet against formidable passing teams.

Also, I thought Reid (sp?) subbed in for Lloyd, no?  And who got the second pick for Stanford against the Buffs?  Thought it was Reid (and that Lloyd was not on the field).  But maybe I'm mistaken.

Re: New depth chart - ThePassionOfTheChryst - 11-10-2015

I think it's cute how the #2 QB spot is still listed as Burns -or- Chryst.

Re: New depth chart - TrumpCard - 11-10-2015

To the best of my recollection, on the prior depth charts, safety was listed this way:

FS
Whitfield
Reid

SS
Lloyd
Simmons or Edwards

I know Reid had one game in which he played a lot of nickel.  I am not sure whether any of the subs have played meaningful minutes backing up Whitfield or Lloyd.  What I seem to remember is that Reid and Simmons played more snaps than Edwards at safety when  the back ups were playing during garbage time.  I don't remember Edwards getting much, if any, time at safety.  When I've noticed Edwards to date, it has been on special teams.  That's not to say Edwards has played zero snaps at safety or that he won't going forward.  I'm looking forward to seeing him rise to the occasion.

Justin Reid had an interception on Saturday I think.

Very nice play.  In garbage time.  Stanford was up 32 in the 4th quarter.  My point remains that, to the best of my recollection, Reid, Edwards, and Simmons have played very few meaningful snaps at safety.Â
