Stanford #1 seed along with Virginia, Florida State and Penn State.
Other seeds in Stanford quarter of the bracket - #2 Florida, #3 Duke, #4 Santa Clara. Stanford opens Friday vs San Jose State, then would play the winner of Utah Valley State-BYU the following Friday.

Observations - BYU in the round of 32 would be a tough matchup. They have been a top 15-20 team all year. Stanford played BYU early in the year and won 1-0.Â
Santa Clara in the round of 16 would match Stanford against one of the two teams to beat them this year (the other is Penn St).Â
Stanford played Florida in the regional finals last year and won in a penalty kick shootout.

The fun begins. Best to the women.Â

Stanford side of the bracket looks brutal.  7 of teams are currently ranked in the top 25 and 1 team receiving votes. Assuming the rankings/seedings prevail, Stanford will have to play BYU who is currently rank #13. That does not make sense at all. Also a possible rematch of last yearÊ»s quarterfinal and semifinal.Â
I just hope that the team is prepared, healthy and ready for a long battle. This should be a fun tournament and I wish the team nothing but the best. Canʻt wait for the tournament to start. Hoping for a national championship.
Will Pac 12 Network televise the early rounds?

Yes, BYU is an unusually high-rated second-round opponent for a 1-seed; in a round of 32 you would think we'd be playing someone in the 24-32 range. But I thought we were clearly better than them when we played earlier this year, and our team has gotten a lot better since then as the freshmen have gained a season of experience. But they are a tough second-round draw. Santa Clara is a fair #4 seed for the third round; although we lost to them already, I like our chances at home and with a second go-round. Our quarterfinal draw is tough with Florida, but fair because we were probably the fourth #1 seed and drew the toughest #2 seed. I would consider it a disadvantage for us that all 3 tough opponents know us well, having played us once or more in the past year. All in all a tough road to the College Cup, and the 2-game weekend of BYU and Santa Clara will be really hard unless we can use our bench more. Maybe Arizona can take care of Santa Clara for us!
