OT: Music - BostonCard - 10-22-2015

I'm not much of a hip hop fan, but I did find the recent collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and the National Symphony Orchestra to be quite impressive.

Is this the most recent music thread?

Anyway, appropriately given the kickoff post, this 10-minute freestyle by Black Thought is absurd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prmQgSpV3fA

For those so inclined, I have been really impressed with Prophets of Rage. I will not post links to videos since they will violate politics and profanity filters.

The group consists of 2 members of Public Enemy (including Chuck D), B-Real from Cypress Hill and 3 members of Rage Against the Machine (including Tom Morello).

Given those members you know the way they lean.

I am a big fan of roots music and Larkin Poe is my favorite new find of 2017.  Two sisters from Georgia channeling the spirit of the Allman Brothers and Robert Johnson.

The best track I've heard in 2017 didn't come to my attention until the end of the year: Broken by lovelytheband

So much stuff I've liked this year, but...restraint.

Here's a very soulful and epic performance by Hurray for the Riff Raff that I've been replaying over and over for the last few weeks.
