That he's back in a hospital bed (and he's talking about it being unfortunate) makes me think this is a setback, rather than an expected further procedure after his season-ending injury against Northwestern. Anyone know anything solid? That kid plays with such passion; I hope to see him out there again next year.Â

Seems to me that we have no way of knowing what to make of it. This could be anything -- mononucleosis, appendicitis, etc.

Phillips doesn't appear to have stopped eating and lifting!
Maybe today is the day of his ACL surgery?Â

Me, too. I was thinking that the ACL surgery must have happened already, so that made me think this was something else, but I suppose there are often other ligament/muscle issues (or swelling) that sometimes need to be resolved first before the surgery takes place. Not a doctor, but that rings a bell from somewhere. Hopefully that's all it is!

I am not a doctor, but a number of my friends have gone through ACL surgery. A few of them really wanted to get the sugary done asap, but had to wait some time before swelling in their knee had subsided. I suspect that is what has happened here, and that he is having surgery to repair his ACL today.
