Nadia is a 6'2" 5 star forward, ranked 26 on ESPN and 23 on PN.Â
Quote:Strong and athletic in the paint; pounds glass, scores in traffic with interior footwork; average quicks in uptempo game; mid-post game consistency is the key to next level impact; among the elite interior prospects in the class of 2016. (Olson)
Quote:I've said it once and I will say it again I always enjoy watching young post players and 2016 6-3 Nadia Fingall, from Navarre, Fla fits the bill. Fingall has a college frame with long arms and runs the floor well. Fingall has a high motor hustles and is very active at both ends. She likes to bang around the glass fighting for rebounds. Fingall has good hands and finishes in the paint. She has a nice offensive low post game. Fingall is a solid on ball and low post defender with excellent timing for blocking shots. Really like Fingall game and potential she has a big upside.

To repost some of the information we have about her, we can begin with this humorous video of her sparring with a young sports reporter:

Bob, I noticed what appears to be the return of a walk-on from years past in the most recent WBB video on the Fast Break Club website. It's the one featuring an interview with Coach Tara while the girls are going through their practice regimen. She's number 31, but there's no 31 on the website's listed roster.
I noticed her because of the distinctive bounce she has in the way she runs -- so did one of the last two walk-ons we had two or three years ago. She was of Indian heritage and I think her name was Kiran something. She was from a Texas high school and her mother was a doctor (pediatrician?). At the time, I watched several videos of her h.s. games and was quite impressed, thinking this gal is pretty good, she could help us. I think I even said her style reminded me of Jillian Harmon.
So much for my eye for talent, I guess, as she only got in a couple of games that year. However, she did play well, IMHO, in those few games. If it is her, she should be a junior or senior now, and it looks like she might have grown an inch or two. I think she was a 5'10"/5'11" G/W, and she appears to be 6' or better now. Anyway, I'll be happy to see her (and my eye for talent) get another chance. As it is, we have two roster spots open this year, and you never know about injuries.

Very interesting. Thanks for this. So hard for a walk in who doesn't play to stay on a team. We have 12 healthy players plus Green who suffered a late in season ACL so maybe she is back
Since the staff doesn't seem to want an open practice this year we wait until Nov 7 to find out

Thank you, Garvin. She's the one. And especially thanks for the article. It stated that she left the program, but I'd say that's incorrect in that there was no room on the roster the following year due to prior scholarship commitments.
She did say that she would greatly miss BB. Well, things change over the course of 2 or 3 years. Perhaps there is now time in her life for BB. I hope so. I'd like to see her on the team again.

She and Ebersole had one year scholies as we had 2 openings that year with 13 on scholie. The following year we were filled. Thus no scholie for either.Â

Mike if you saw the e-mail about the open Practice Saturday then you saw a new 5th player mentioned. You nailed that one it appears.Â

I did see it. Thank you, Bob. I'm looking forward to an Elite 8 this year. And if we are fortunate enough to also pull in Carrington and Pivec, aspirations for a Final Four next year. Go Card!
