In sweats on the sideline for the UCF game. Haven't looked for him since. Sweats on the sideline is never a good indicator :(

It's hard enough to juggle three tight ends, let alone four. I can't imagine there's too much urgency to get him back out on the field.

This has been an odd topic. There seems to be a shroud of mystery surrounding Cotton's unavailability. I probably have not paid sufficient attention up to this point and maybe I overlooked the feedback. Are we dealing with an injury? I guess maybe now that I've written this, I'll go review the thread. If it's all been previously covered, well, . . . . Sorry. If not, is anyone at liberty to give me a little more insight? How long will his situation continue?

BobK says "working through issues". Physical? Emotional? Astrological? Seriously, I do not need to pry. If it is "complicated", is anyone able to say how long he is expected to be MIA?

"Working through issues" is coachspeak for "he's injured". I think Harbaugh coined the phrase, but I may be misremembering.

All I've seen on the Cardboard or elsewhere are folks asking why Cotton isn't playing and other folks saying he must be injured. Haven't seen any details on what the injury might be.
Unfortunately he has redshirted already... If he has a season-ending injury that keeps him out all this year I suppose he could petition for a 6th year, though.

No, you can only petition for a sixth year if you've lost two seasons due to injury.
