Kevin Anderson, who has an undisclosed injury, will be held out for the second consecutive week.
Shaw added that quarterback Kevin Hogan sustained no further damage to his sprained left ankle and the swelling has subsided.

Rumors are almost always exaggerated.

See? That's why they tell you to get corroboration!
And there wasn't any to be had.

Nor even to say Shaw was obviously lying to Wilner, "but that's okay," etc.
I think we all just want to believe the guys will be fine on Saturday.

Quote:Jordan Watkins and Nate Lohn wont cut it against the top offenses in the conference, perhaps including the one Stanford is about to face (again: see below) and definitely included the one coming to town Oct. 15.
This is from Wilner,
here. Is there any reason to believe Lohn or Watkins might outperform Wilner's conclusion/judgment?

The Beavers had 0 net rushing yards in the 2nd half. They are performing better than expected already.

I read somewhere that this was partly because we started loading the box and daring OSU to throw (sort of like what good teams did to us in 2012 pre-Hogan). Stopping the run isn't too hard when you commit 8-9 defenders to it. I wouldn't count on being able to continue that.

I didn't pay any attention to the rumors. I paid attention to the really slow pace with which Shittu walked off the field. That was not the pace of a guy who would be expected to suit up 8 days later. I'm thrilled that he's going to play but I'm also concerned about how long he & Scarlett can go there's no way they will be 100% and Stanford will need them to be 100% 11 days later.

Will the team be recruiting CARDboard members to try out?

Honestly, my feeling right now is that each week we survive with the paper-thin DL is another week of development for the true freshmen in case they need to be thrown into the fray. I'm sure a single week makes little difference and the best overall option is a redshirt year, but every day of practice and physical development makes them just that much better prepared, as was the case with Harrison Phillips last year.

I had an extra helping of mashed potatoes last night. Just in case I'm needed, I want to be ready.
