With just this one data point (or 7 data points, LOL), I would hazard a guess that Ben Edwards is likely to live a very successful life.

Schaffer has offers from Nebraska, Oregon, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and UNC. (Besides Stanford, of course.)

Schaffer is going to be a monster when he adds weight that is for sure.

Has the NCAA ever clarified social media rules? I remember when Harbaugh was walking the line by talking about how he "needed more AC" because it was so hot (in reference to Amir Carlisle) and some thought that was a sketchy move. Are there any risks of violation here?

As I recall, Harbaugh also had a tweet where he waxed poetic about the sun rising in the east after Vaughters' commitment.

An article from the Trib on Schaffer features this comment from his high school coach:
Quote:"Thomas fits the mold of intellectual brutality," Lake Forest Academy coach Robin Bowkett said. "There's not too many people that can move well as him, have long arms, is lean and mean, and he has a little nasty streak to him."
...
"It's pretty awesome to be starting a Stanford pipeline," Bowkett said. "We've been really fortunate to have many great players recently."
Glad to see high school coaches be so excited about sending kids to us. (As well as repeating our branding.)

ATH Croom
WR Sanders
No chance
ATH Brandon Burton
CB David Long
Robertson still says Stanford leads and we're a month from signing day. He'd be a lock but people here think admissions status is an issue. I don't get the sense it is an issue for Schaffer, Swann, and McCullough.
I don't think Stanford gets both Stewart and Crawford. They may not get either, but Michigan is after both, and it seems they want Stewart as a hedge against losing Crawford, and EUTM will only take one between the two anyway.
Powell seems the most likely of the possibles because Stanford needs another OL this class and he seems the only option after Herbig. There are five WR options among Stewart, Crawford, Robertson, Croom, and Sanders.
I seem to recall that Wisconsin OL commit Patrick Kasl had early interest in Stanford, but I don't think that he got an offer. I am reading that he has been getting a lot of interest lately from Vanderbilt and Minnesota. He might be a great 2016 class add for tackle or guard. I don't think that grades will be a problem ... he has 4.0 or something like that!
Hudl:

He also had the highest Nike SPARQ rating and fastest 20-Yard Shuttle time for an OL in the 2016 class!

Some seem to think TE/DE Kaufusi out of Utah is about to commit to us.
Haven't seen him mentioned here in a while.

Any word on JP Shohfi as a walk-on? He was brought up during my Rose Bowl trip by someone who mentioned that he'd set a national record for single-season receiving yards...

What's up with Mike Williams? Saw he was visiting Texas on the 16th. Has he been admitted or no? That's a cat I don't want to lose.

Sure, it might not be Chryst (though it probably will be), but it won't be Costello. Does anyone see Shaw starting a true Freshman? Maybe if he's stupendously football smart and can pick up the playbook over the summer, but what are the odds of that? Have to be close to zero.

Since Luck didn't start as a t use freshman it's hard to see anyone else doing so, baring emergency.

Barring injury, Chryst is a lock for starting QB next year, and I am really looking forward to seeing him (and the underutilized WR/TE contingent) unchained. We'll probably see Burns from time to time in "packages" that fit his abilities. Costello redshirts. I see 2016 as a potential break out year for Stanford football, and can't wait for September!
