That's Stanford, Michigan, Northwestern. Hard to tell whether it's in order or not, but still quite nice.

None of those schools are local for him, and from that list it appears that academics are his priority.  My bet is that if he has the grades and the scores, he will come to The Farm.

EDIT: the free to view portion of this article confirms that Stanford is his top choice.

Yup, Alameen Murphy committed. From the DMV area. Had a decent offer list from Arizona, Ga. Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, Vanderbilt (among others). Low- to medium-three star. Position of need, which is very nice.

Has had better reviews from people who've seen him in person. For example, from the 247 reporter Barton Simmons:

Four-star on 247, three-star everywhere else. Offer list with Arizona State, BYU, UW on it. He's got great top-end speed but the worry is that he's faster than quick. Highlights:

Brant-Sims has run a 6.77 60.  That's faster than anyone in the history of Stanford T&F

Not the fastest in the west.  But damn fast.  10.59 legal and 10.48 wind not gauged.

I know little about evaluating football players, though his cuts don't look as sharp as others to me (and I do think it's interesting that the 100m race they show on his highlight tape features a slow start followed by Brandt-Sims blitzing the opposition).

Obviously his straight-line speed is great.

This is really under the radar, but it seems we took a Punter/Kicker commit from Penn St. who accepted an offer to be a preferred walk-on from Stanford last month. Considering how clutch our punting game was last year, knowing that we have a talented kicker on board for this (2013) class is a great development.

It's nice to have another option at punter. And it's nice to see a kid who wants to compete in the big time, instead of playing at Penn. He took the harder road from a football standpoint. Good for him.

Penn is in the Ivy League & they don't offer athletic scholarships, so he now has that as a possibility at Stanford  ...  if things work out.

Scout just posted an article (http://stanford.scout.com/2/1301452.html) that says he had a laser-timed 40 of 4.5s, which is fast, but not amazingly so. Clearly over the next 60 yards he's great, but I'm wondering if there's something to that worry about his "quickness", as it were.

I also wonder if there's any extent to which that's trainable. I know I've heard that Usain Bolt isn't that fast out of the gate, but he has incredible top speed. Is this something that he could have internalized for track that could be changed on the field? (This is an area about which I know nothing.) It'd be nice to have someone running 4.3's on our side...

This is a very well done piece on the Brandt-Sims commitment story.  Lombardi did a good one on Scout too, but this one really explains the dynamics of his commitment choice.

Stanford is going to deploy some serious speed on offense in the coming years with Rector, Owusu, Young, Sanders, McCaffrey, and Brandt-Sims all being home run threats.

Lombardi somehow still has Vin Lananna coaching at Stanford, which would be news to a lot of people.
