RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 03-02-2025

Stanford up 2-0 on Mahler’s double. Top of 6th.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - M T - 03-02-2025

And it is a 2-0 victory.

Great group of Stanford fans there.  Seemed like 25-30 people in one group.  Is there a story behind that.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 03-02-2025

Great win and who would have ever guessed a shut out for us

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BostonCard - 03-02-2025

Chung and Houston combined for a two-hit shutout.  6 walks is still not great, but as someone posted earlier, what a difference a day makes.  Mahler's bases loaded double was the difference.

What a fantastic performance from Kylie Chung today. She has a great competitive spirit.

Team flies from Atlanta back to Stanford today.  Then flies to Syracuse on Thursday (or possibly Wednesday) for Friday's game.  I doubt there is a direct flight to Syracuse so that will be a nightmare of a trip.

Series against Syracuse is at home (thankfully). Team did a great job this weekend picking up the necessary road series win.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - d4cohn - 03-07-2025

Stanford's 1st home conference game in the ACC was a tight one; Stanford's offense wasn't nearly as prolific as it has been in other games in the cold Bay Area air, but the Cardinal led by Kylie Chung and Zoe Prystajko pitched a quality game, as the the Card hold off Syracuse 4-3. Chance for the series win tomorrow.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 03-08-2025

Keep in mind one ball hit by Stanford already forgot who caught at the top of the fence and in Her first AB of the season Zoe P hit it over the fence by inches but their CFer caught it with a leap. Cool night air or HRs and that’s 5 run we didn’t get
Congrats to Zoe for her great clutch pitching

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 03-08-2025

Stanford beats Syracuse 5-1 in game 2.

Folks, that two games in a row where clutch pitching and excellent fielding beat a pretty good team. We have not killed Syracuse pitching but we are 2-0. Hopeful sign.

Stanford up 3-0 against Syracuse in game 3 after three innings but leaving too many runners on base.

Beautiful day for a softball game.   I don't see how Stanford plans to break an attendance record on April 19.  They are going to need more than a softball game to attract 10K plus fans into the stadium.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - d4cohn - 03-09-2025

Margin is now 6-0, as River Mahler and then Jade Berry help the Cardinal to a sizeable lead. Zoe Prystajko is pitching a fantastic game so far.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 03-09-2025

Stanford up 6-0 after four innings.  Could have been more.  Is aggressive base running needed when no outs and Stanford hitting well?

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - d4cohn - 03-09-2025

Stanford softball has its sweep of the Orange, with a 9-0 run rule in 6 innings. What a fantastic game for Jade Berry who went 3-for-3 with 5 RBI's. Zoe Prystajko and Kylie Chung combined to throw a 3 hit shutout. All-around outstanding game for the Cardinal.

Jade Berry says she is very grateful Stanford put much effort into modifying the football stadium so the team didn't have to travel to some other college for every home game.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 03-09-2025

Not only 2 big HRs but a fantastic catch at 3rd by Berry
A fun sweep Stanford far better than expected

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 03-13-2025

Stanford vs California Baptist University scheduled for 4:30pm today on ACCNX.  Weather forecast I'm looking at doesn't look promising.   Cal Baptist is a Div 1 team in the WAC.  They are 13-12.

Update from X: "Due to field conditions, this evening’s game has been delayed and will not start at 4:30 p.m. PT as scheduled."

Update: Game cancelled.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 03-14-2025

Today's game against Cal Baptist will start at 7:00pm instead of 4:00pm.   IMO it is doubtful they play this game.

Baseball is on but softball is yet to start.
