Stanford up 7-1 in fourth inning against Oregon State. Vawter being helped by good defense.
#3 UCLA loses to Oregon 0-3. UCLA bats fairly silent with only two hits.

And now helped by her own bat! A towering HR has the Cardinal in position for an easy run rule win.
Either way, a 25th win is all but a formality at this point.

9-1 mercy rule win in 5. Vawter had 5 innings pitched giving up 1 run (a HR) on 6 hits. The Stanford offense scored 9 runs in 4 innings; Vawter helped her cause with a home run and three RBI.

This may already have been answered somewhere, but I'm wondering why Canady hasn't pitched this weekend? Apologies if this has been covered.

That is a great question Terry. I didn't see her start against Oregon last week, but from the stat line, it looks like it might have been a bit of a struggle. Pac softball is really tough competition, and she is a true freshman (which further underscores how fantastic her start to the season has been).
Regan is also throwing very well right now; I have no doubts NiJaree will adjust to Pac softball the way she has adjusted to DI softball so well.

I Have asked the Canady question of a writer who covers Stanford softball
Stanford up 6-4 bottom of the 6th.
Chan replaced Koch who looked like injured her knee hope not and Chan saved three runs with a great catch then Chen scored from 2nd on an infield hit
8-4 Stanford with the sweep now 5-1 in league play

Is it possible Canady is injured? In her last appearance she left the game in the middle of the inning when Stanford was not in trouble. Seemed like odd timing to me for her to leave other than injury. Today the Oregon State batters roughed up Vawter. It would have been a good day for Canady to come in relief.
That injury to Koch was strange. The coach signaled for her to hold up at third when she was about 20 feet from third base. Koch kept running at full speed rounding third until she suddenly decided to lurch back toward third base.

We probably won't see Canady pitching for a few weeks unfortunately.

After getting the sweep they needed over the Beavers, the Card have the toughest road trip of the (regular) season (by far):
a road game at Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday, which already have wins over Tennessee, Florida, Oregon, Cal, Mississippi and UCF,
followed by a road series at Easton Stadium against perennial power UCLA.

It's on; Stanford vs Cal State Fullerton. Krause pitching. Koch not in the lineup.

I hope so too. The fall looked rough.
Card with a 6-0 lead on Fullerton in wet SoCal. They broke the game open and chased the Fullerton starter after 2 innings
with a big 3rd inning.
