4.0 GPA attending Palos Verdes high school so Kaci Damaria is the type of student who might view Stanford favorably. In watching some videos she currently looks a little gangly as a youthful player. Her hitting technique imo is somewhat unstructured. I would like to see her jump more vertical and less broad jump; also swing her left arm upward when jumping to gain more overall body momentum.
Having said that she looks to me as a young player with immense potential. By August 2025 I expect a more coordinated player showing improved technique.
I would be very happy to see her commitment to Stanford.
FWIW gangly definition: tall and thin and moving with a loose-jointed awkwardness.
She reminds me a lot of Michelle Bartsch early on in her career. Not a bad thing, as she went on to have a great professional career.

Growing up in Palos Verdes, Stanford was the dream school for almost every top academic kid. If she has a 4.0 the social pressure to go to Stanford will be enormous.

The additional assistant

Thanks for finding that BobK. I've been starved for WVB news. Three more weeks until camps start around the country.
I'm sure Hambly can find useful tasks for her. But it's obvious Stanford WVB views this position as a junior level assistant position which is fine with me. BA in Art History. One season coaching 13U club and one season as an assistant coaching 17U club.
Seslar is only two or three years older than many of the players. There will be a challenge for her starting out in college coaching at one of the most prestigious programs in the country. She has to make sure not to be viewed as one of the team off the court keeping the role of coach/mentor on a professional level. I'm rooting for her to be successful.

Well if Jane learned from her Grandfather she will be fine as a coach. Cas Banaszek OL for the 49ers for 10 years

2025 possible recruits, new rankings by one site
Kaci Demaria 6'3"OH Palos Verdes, CA # 4, 8
Taylor Harvey 6'2" MB Bountiful Utah # 11, 7
Charlotte Glass 6-1 Setter # 14, 20
Abigail Mullen 6-3 OH/RS # 2, 1
Zoe Galin-Malveaux 6-3 MB # 66, 43
Of course 2024 still may have openings

Demaria and Malveaux are communicating with Andrew on Instagram; not that it means anything.

Glass to Duke. On another board Parks is mentioned as a possible setter recruit
RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 07-21-2023
What is Parks first name? There is a Taylor Parks (2024 setter) who committed to University of Florida a year ago so it's not her.

Logan Parks. She is the second highest setter on the class — #10 on prepvolleyball. Word is that Hambly is big on her.
Also recruiting Suli Davis.
Nebraska seemed in the running for #1 recruit Mullen. But they just got a commit from Ryan Hunter. Most of their fans think it means Mullens is going to be coming Stanfords way most likely.
This class has the potential to be another super class if they all pan out. Of course, until they commit, interest means nothing.

Thanks for the info spike 5882. Anyone who is familiar with the play of a young Michelle Bartsch is an aficionado of college WVB. This thread could use your knowledge more frequently.
If Abigail Mullen wants to be a college starter freshman and sophomore year Stanford will not be so easy a team to attain that. In 2025 Blyashov, Jordyn Harvey, and Kurt will be juniors. Demaria may also be on campus battling for court time. Is Mullen good enough to leapfrog the competition to make the starting lineup?
After reviewing some video I would be happy with a commit from Logan Parks or Suli Davis. A 6'2" Davis looks to me to have a high ceiling over time.
Hambly will have an uphill battle recruiting Parks. In this video Parks says her top three college choices are Kentucky, Louisville, and Nebraska.

Yes. Mullen would likely start at OPP against any of those players. She is a beast.
Taylor Harvey is my top pick in the class. I would take her over anyone. Even Mullen.

Things go from bad to worse for Cal. Head coach Sam Crosson quits unexpectedly two weeks before fall camp starts. He took a coaching job at West Valley Community College in Saratoga.
Cal is in an unbelievable 55 conference match losing streak. It won't get better this season. The day after Stanford plays Cal watch Stanford's RPI drop.

Wow. From Cal to West Valley Community College!? Not what you'd typically call a step upward.
