That is interesting. I think Maya Dodson and Dijonai may have had strong feelings about that--and of course both sat out most of the year with injuries and both transferred. I will never understand why any person interested in social justice would play for Kim Mulkey. But all water under the bridge, and I hope it stays under the bridge, and that UConn takes care of Baylor.
So Dodson is going to be playing for Notre Dame at a pretty low ebb for them...much like Sniezek did. At least that may get her a bigger role.

Yeah I was slightly offended because I’m a brobdingnagian supporter and was respectful in my responses.. well UConn and Baylor will battle it out... Stanford does have a gauntlet but I think it’s a gauntlet no matter what side of the bracket you’re on.. I believe all the signs point to this being Stanford’s year.. hope they get it done!

Indiana just took down NC State! 73-70. Winner plays AZ or Aggies.

Arizona starting much better than their last game. 25-19 in the 2nd so far after an 8-0 run.
Arizona 35 A&M 32 at half. McDonald already with 19.

Arizona up 48-40 in the third. The refs are allowing Arizona to reach in to tie up balls. Very rough and "handsy" and it is benefiting Arizona. A&M with 10 turnovers and Arizona with 3. Arizona with 6 steals.

Love the way Arizona has been playing. Such high energy. I despise Texas A&M. They should have lost their last game.
Down goes Texas A&M. Congrats to Arizona, Aari McDonald, and Adia Barnes.

Arizona wins, McDonald with 31 and her team with 13 steals. Their defense looked awesome--makes me wonder where it came from considering how well we handled them. In any case, they more than held up their end the Pac 12 respectability.

She was phenomenal today.
So was that #4 gal from Indiana. She was the shortest and least athletic looking player on the floor, but she kept making play after play.

With NC State knocked out by Indiana, Arizona is probably the favorite to make it to the final four out of the "Mercado" region.

Thank you Texas for taking down Maryland. I really like our chances now.
Held Maryland to their lowest scoring of the season. The Longhorns applied the brakes to the Terrapins.

61 points for Maryland. Not so easy to run it up against a team that defends, plays a different tempo, and has some grit. After watching this game, I think we would have dominated Maryland. They would have struggled to stop us and we would have held them to around 60 points just like Texas. Guess we'll never know.
Go Card! Take down the Cards!

Now that Texas exposed Maryland, there is a chance we will play Texas. And they defeated us just last year in one of our more disappointing games, and they have a new coach who played us tight last year at the head of Mississippi State. They are obviously not to be taken lightly.
I am hoping that UConn takes down Baylor. I don't want to play against Dijonai, and Baylor's defense scares me a bit more than UConn's does, although UConn's defense looks quite good.

Be careful what you wish for.... I thought Texas was very scary with what they did to UCLA early. But, they are fighting the attrition of their players. I was surprised they came back after two players had to be pulled (although one came back quickly). I notice that Texas didn't fade late despite only using 3 minutes total for players 7 & 8.
I thought Maryland's offense had a lot of attributes in common with Stanford's offense. Maybe they'd shut us down as effectively.

Texas/Maryland was a great game to watch. One of the most enjoyable for me of the non-Stanford games.

Any thoughts on either team as the game is progressing? I assume either team would be a heavy favorite against the Indiana/Arizona winner in the national semis, so if we are fortunate enough to win two more games, then they would be the likely representative of the right side of the bracket in the title game.
Carrington, her usual aggressive self. Already 14 points in the first half, crashing boards, driving to the basket. I am sorry that injuries derailed her last year at Stanford. I don't know how Tara would have managed the minutes of the guards/wings but if it would have been possible for her to stay this season, our depth at the 2/3 position would have been unparalleled.
