There's only one other NFL player who can make that claim. Who is it?
Jerry Rice?

Yes, Jerry, but I was thinking of current players...Zach Ertz. Who is still seeking a team after ACL injury last December. I imagine he'll show up in the NFL either late this year or next season.

Who was the only athlete drafted by 4 different leagues ?

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - Papa John - 09-15-2026

Hmm, not sure if you are restricting the answer to (primarily) American sports leagues. I know that Bo Jackson was drafted multiple times by the NFL and MLB, but that doesn't fit your description. I don't know if Bo was drafted by the Canadian Football League, but that still wouldn't get me to 4.

Maybe Dave Winfield?

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - BobK - 09-15-2026

Yes Dave Winfield
MLB
NFL
NBA
ABA American Basketball Association

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - Mick - 09-15-2026

As a Stanford freshman, I was a Stanford field hockey goalkeeper who carried the Olympic torch in the 1980 Lake Placid Olympic Games. I had never seen the luge before, watched it, stayed for a clinic, become obsessed, bought a sled, trained in Germany, spoke fluent German and made the 1984 American Olympic team, ultimately competing in three Olympics. At one point, I literally slept on the floor of the U. S. Luge Association while I learned the sport.

Who am I?

Has to be Bonnie Warner, a contemporary of mine at Stanford although I didn't know her.

At one point she brought Street Luge sleds to streets in Menlo Park (If my memory serves?) to let Bay Area folks try the sport and find new athletes.  Also picked up Bobsled at an Olympic level and later learned to fly becoming a pilot for United and an executive at Jet Blue and Joby.  (I just learned the Joby career track).

What a life!  She's followed her passions to take risks, learn, and master new disciplines.  By my count she leaned Field Hockey as an adolescent followed by Luge, Bob Sled, and Flying as an adult. Plus C-Level business management.

I'll go huddle in a corner and lament the relative tameness of my own life choices.

I remember reading that she used to train on Old Page Mill Road!

You're right, it's Bonnie Warner... ;)

I got lucky on that one. It turns out that one of my best friends when I was in grad school attended U of Minnesota in the 1970s and served as Goldy Gopher for the basketball and hockey teams. I learned about Dave Winfield from him.

Didn't have to wait long. Ertz signed with Philadelphia yesterday after the Dallas Goedert injury.

something like 11 catches away from passing Harold Carmicheal for all time top Eagle's pass catcher?  And something like 5th on receptions for tight end?  I feel privileged to have watched him from his time on The Farm!

and I will also always remember the Draft Combine criticisms of his too-short "T Rex" arms, LOL

3 MLB players share the record of most consecutive seasons driving in 100 runs. Each with 13 seasons. Who are the 3?

Gehrig, Mays, and Pujols?

Gehrig is one of 3

George Brett?

Never mind. I forgot about the strike-shortened season in the early 1980s that was right in the middle of his career.

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - BobK - 09-22-2026

Not The Babe. But one player in that time frame the other fairly recent

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - terry - 09-22-2026

Mel Ott? Johnny Mize? Jimmie Foxx? Al Simmons?

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - BobK - 09-22-2026

Jimmie Foxx yes.
The other played mostly this century

RE: Sports trivia thread 2025-2026 - Mick - 09-22-2026

Barry Bonds?

Edit: Looked it up. My third guess.
