Boom Boom: Pat Travers. Saw him with Ozzie Osbourne, Loverboy, Blue Oyster Cult and Heart at the Day on the Green on the Fourth of July in 1982. Single best concert I've ever attended.

Boom Boom I remember most is Ray Mancini, fought at lightweight and light-welterweight, 29-5, 23 KO's.

Fred Couples goes by Boom Boom sometimes.

I forgot about Mancini. I was thinking of Bernie Geoffrion of the Canadians. Part of the greatest teams in NHL history with all those guys named Jacques and the Richards, the Savards, Jean Beliveau, Patric Roy etc.

Still looking for the two footballers and the guy with no vowels.

Blanda came out of Kentucky to the Bears. Never played in the AAFC.

Tell them about the Cal and Stanford guys Bob. One of them played three innings in the OF and pinch hit. He also threw a memorable pass in the Big Game. Who caught it?

First Ballot, iirc. You are indeed correct.

Hadn't realized he played for the Bears until he was mentioned a few posts above. Was a brobdingnagian Raider fan in the late 60s through the 70s. Great fun.
