Looks like his arm is on backwards in that picture.

Re: Class of 2016 - FarmBoy - 11-08-2015

I hope we have a lot of recruits on hand to watch us go for the north title. Should be a lot of energy in the stadium that night.

Is the meaning of "lit" for the kids these days something besides "drunk/high off my ass"? I sure hope so!

Re: Class of 2016 - amartinsu13 - 11-08-2015

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Lit

It's an ambiguous term.  It could mean drunk/high, but probably only if he is saying it to a peer 1to1.  If he's saying it on Twitter, he would probably just mean 'very excited', lol.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 11-08-2015

My count for the 2016 class:
Fehoko, Bills, and Tangaloa are 2018 if they come.
18 committed for 2016.
Fox hopefully re-joining.
Stewart and Swann clearly favor Stanford.
Schaffer and Speights have Stanford in top 3 and are visiting soon.
McCulloch, Burton, Crawford, and Robertson are possible.
Then, hopefully, add Stealth.
If there were no attrition, you can imagine getting to 25.
I suspect there will be some attrition though.  No one specific in mind.  That's okay.  Need some spots for 2017. If 25 come, we're looking at maybe 15 in 2017, even after factoring attrition of 5th years, draft entrants, and medical.

Re: Class of 2016 - BobK - 11-09-2015

19 commits.  Or 18 coming with one going on a mission?

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 11-09-2015

Since the exercise is trying to figure out room for scholarship players, I'm counting only those guys who will take a scholarship in 2016.  Therefore, not counting Fehoko, and not counting the possibility of landing Bills or Tangaloa Kaufusi.  Also, not counting potential walk-ons, including Gutwald, Shohfi, or a QB.

In case you needed proof that he's a silent commit, his girlfriend provides the evidence:

Also like that he's doing what it takes to get in academically....

Re: Class of 2016 - AthleticsDynasty - 11-10-2015

So a RB decommitted from TCU and is apparently favoring A&M, it may mean nothing but it certainly doesn't hurt our chances with Trevor Speights. Did any report come out from Speights visit to OU a few weeks back?

Is she coming too?

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 11-10-2015

247 indicates that Speights and Schaffer both are taking official visits Stanford this weekend.  It's going to be a nice afternoon/evening on the Peninsula.  I hope they will get to see Stanford win in front of a full house.  They'd be nice additions to the class.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 11-11-2015

The Card seems to have a good shot at Utah TE/LB Loa Kaufusi.
His game-by-game senior highlights are on hudl: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3673968/highlights
His team (East High School) seems to be pretty solid and played a number of credible programs this year, including Chacho Ulloa's school, Corona Centennial, which is nationally ranked, so the highlights are not just against scrubs.
He's taking a mission, so he's one of the kids that Shaw would stash away for future years.  Plus, if he can avoid a mission in Ghana, he should come back a little bit bigger than he is now.

Re: Class of 2016 - OutsiderFan - 11-12-2015

This sure is amusing.  Demetris Robertson just took in LSU-Alabama, and was interviewed about it after.  http://alabama.247sports.com/Bolt/Demetris-Robertson-goes-in-depth-on-LSU-Bama--40963400

Yet, despite the fact he still says Stanford is his top choice, the 247 crystal ball shows Robertson with only a 7% chance of ending up at Stanford.  Either Robertson's academic qualifications are in doubt by a lot of people, or whoever is guessing these things thinks Robertson is blowing smoke about his Stanford interest.

I'm not saying these things aren't possible, but you'd think the school a recruit publicly says - over and over - is his #1 choice, less than two months from signing day, would be seen as having more than a 7% chance of getting his signature.

It's the former.

Re: Class of 2016 - cardfan77 - 11-12-2015

Is Demetris Robertson planning on taking one of is OV to Stanford?  Or has he taken an OV to Stanford?

Iʻm sure itʻs posted somewhere but too lazy to look.

Re: Class of 2016 - amartinsu13 - 11-12-2015

In the 247 article it says one of his OVs is going to be for Stanford.

Re: Class of 2016 - slide - 11-12-2015

I'm hoping for a Mark Bradford Part II admissions surprise with DR

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 11-12-2015

There is always walk-on WR candidate JP Shohfi.  He's got grades and an offer from Yale, but he may spurn the Bulldogs to come to Palo Alto.  Stanford is famous for turning walk-on WRs in to pros, so maybe he will be the next.
