1950 for those still wondering. I think the stat just says a lot about MLB’s (lack of) investment in baseball at the lowest levels. Kids play soccer, or basketball, or football, but are just not interested in little league.

Innings.
I know his five inning save was the only one of its kind in the postseason, and just the 12th in MLB history. And I want to say that his career World Series ERA of 0.25 is the lowest of all pitchers with 30 or more innings pitched in the WS.
I think the Giants have some pretty impressive career World Series ERA leaders. Christy Mathewson threw three shutouts in the 1905 World Series, and Joe McGinnity threw 17 shutout innings in the same series. Carl Hubbell threw 20 scoreless innings in the 1933 World Series. Those three are in the top five all time.

Bumgarner threw 52.2 innings in 2014, breaking Bill Foster’s 1926 record of 51. Curt Schilling is in third with 48.1 innings in 2001.
Anyone hazard a guess on the career post-season innings pitched record?

I would guess one of the Big Three- Glavine, Maddux or Smoltz.
As for just the World Series - my guess would be the Chairman of the Board - Whitey Ford.

The career post-season saves leader is a gimme (and another Yankee), Mariano Rivera. But, he doesn’t own the single season post-season saves record, which is a tie amongst a number of people with 7, including two relievers who got seven saves the same post-season. Who were they?
