Crist was such a pathetic college QB while RG3 and Luck are budding NFL superstars. It really is astounding to me that coaches as great as Harbaugh and Shaw could be fooled to that extent.

Predictions are hard, especially about the future. And they're (relatively) common, as well. The talent difference is just too great I don't think any amount of coaching could of changed their fortunes.

A big part of it has to be that all of these potential players are so much better than their HS peers. Every recruiting video looks like superman playing against 8th graders.


You see many more offers coming as a result of camps, which gives the coaches a chance to put an elite athlete up against other elite athletes and see if the talent is really there.

I remember seeing a recruiting list with Crist one position above Luck. Good for a chuckle now.

It gets worse - Redrum - 08-05-2013

Town went for the glory.  The picture of the Bama stadium on the previous page?  Outdated.  They expanded it again, filled in the south end of the stadium with a second deck there, too.  Second deck holds almost as many spectators as the entire Stanford stadium.  Pretty sure that sealed the deal for Town.

I agree Town went for the glory. I think he thought it would be cool being in a place where people eat, sleep, drink, and talk football 24-7. That's why I'm a bit skeptical about some of the other reasons that are coming out in the media for his choice.

This quote better explains the reasoning behind his choice.
"He said ‘Dad, they got 90,000 at their spring game.’ You can’t beat that.”

As always, I look at a recruit's favorites on Twitter.  Rosen's favorites are combative Kal fan comments after Ricky Town's Bama commitment.  He is hurt, as any of us would be in his situation.

If Rosen is that hurt by the fact that a few of the nations top schools (it wasn't just us) thought Town was a bit better prospect than he was, I feel a little sorry for him. He's sure to have bigger disappointments in life.
Besides, he's got two more years of HS football to go out and prove them wrong.

I think offering Town is a Jedi mind trick by Shaw to get Rosen to get commit despite depth chart concerns vis a vis Chryst.  Humans want what they can't have.  By making Rosen wait longer, he will just want a Stanford offer more badly.  ::)

I realize that of the main recruiting sites, ESPN is probably considered the weakest, but I'm posting this here because it's got some info on Rosen. The commentator says we're still in the lead for Rosen. This could be old information, but it was definitely recorded this week. Maybe he's still getting attention from his recruiter (Anderson?).

This video also has information on Tucker and Okereke, so I'll post it in 2014, as well.
