Of course they can keep it up. They're only out there for 4-5 plays at a time before they force a punt or a TO. Then their offense gives their D a nice rest. Tables are turned.

I think our first offensive possession will be telling. Hogan has put in some putrid halves and then gotten it together in the second half before, we'll need him to do so tonight.

Down 9 with a full half to go. The lady hasn't sung. Yeah, it hasn't been pretty, but I trust our coaches & players to respond. I'm looking forward to an interesting 2nd half.

So, the announcers noted that the WSU defensive coordinators were pouring over the NW game. They obviously found a secret to shutting down power. What is it? It is not personnel, obviously.Â
What I've noticed is that WSU is packing the front seven in much closer and daring us to run wide. Normally we would, but the footing is not good enough for CMac to make his normal cuts, and the inside gaps are not big enough to fit through. What should we be doing to counter the pack-it-in defense? I would think more passes to the TEs. Not having Cajuste is hurtful, too, since we need possession receivers just now rather than sprinters on the outside in a rainstorm.

I really don't know what to think about this. It seems like we should be able to get it going, but what if WSU scores after half? We could be down 3 scores and have to press all second half. This is already pretty ugly, and it could get even uglier really fast.

I have a big report due on Monday. The result of this game will definitely impact the quality of my report. Ugh!
