Back to recruiting talk...
I hope the recruits who came tonight enjoyed the blowout win.
A bunch of important targets.
Did the crowd leave early?

Much of the crowd did leave early, although I think the student section may still have been decently populated. I haven't dug through twitter yet to see if there were posts from any of the visitors, but I assume there have been some.
Also, could the various people yelling at each other about grammar take it to a different thread? This is one of the few on here that typically only has interesting/relevant news, a whole page that's OT is pretty annoying (when my first assumption at seeing a bunch of new posts is that someone committed, de-commited, or was admitted).
Awww, c'mon Crazed - Redrum - 10-04-2015
Arguing over words is a long, l-o-n-g standing Cardboard tradition. I generally just scroll over them and get on with it. Unless I have a dog in that fight, which I seldom do. To put yourself in a more receptive frame of mind, try this: Niggling arguments over grammar are a kind of message board
indicator species. When things are going well with the team, arguments/discussions of this type flourish. When things go sour on the field, the bitching, moaning and snarling increase at the expense of the trivial or peripheral concerns. Trivial arguments over grammar and the like are a good thing based on how our season is going so far. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.

I agree Redrum... But like our crazed chimp, I wish it weren't in the recruiting thread.
Also, as ferrari alluded to, it's all in good fun until it starts to get personal. We're all friends here, I hope.

I hope the recruit attending the game liked what they saw on the field, especially the uncommitted ones :)

If they didn't, what on earth were they hoping to see? Maybe they were hoping to be "escorted" to the game per the other other thread about Louisville MBB.

Already moved. My witty retort was administratively removed.

The only messages that were removed were those specifically referring to grammar for this thread only.

Back to recruiting. Again.Â
I wonder if Swann is talking about the Stanford visit from which he just returned:

OK, I'm booking Swann to go with Peek and Williams. Rand is now gone, so who will the other DL in the class, I'm assuming it will be a SDE?
As an aside, Stanford hasn't fared too well with elite DL prospects. Off the top of my head:
Julian Jenkins - The #1 ranked DE in his class. OK, but not nearly as good as ranking suggested he would be.
Ekom Udofia - Was a top 7 DT in his class (before injury), was OK, but not great at Stanford.
Aziz Shittu - A 5 star, kind of struggled to find a position, has been OK, but not as good as ratings suggested.
Jordan Watkins - Not even a starter as a RS Junior after being ranked the #9 DE prospect in his class.
Matt Masifilo (Rivals #25), Sione Fua (Rivals #47), Terrence Stephens (Rivals #30), Ben Gardner (NR), Josh Mauro (Rivals #61), Henry Anderson (Rivals #27), all ranked lower than the above recruits, and all far more productive in their Stanford careers. You can even add Harrison Phillips (Rivals #30) to this list as someone who also seems poised to be more productive than the elite DL recruits Stanford has signed.
So the fact Swann is #47, Williams is #43, and Peek is #50 seems to AUGUR well for Stanford's future DL prospects.Â
