The staff seems to have made a lot more offers for the 2017 class than it did for the 2016 class at this time last year. More than 40 by Rivals' count. Yet the class next year is going to be very small due to a numbers crunch with the 85 scholarship limit. Maybe only 15 on top of the two kids returning from a mission. I like that the staff is being proactive earlier but i wonder if there will be space for all who can get it and want to come.

Parkinson is the #5 TE in 2017, by consensus. Offers from Georgia, Michigan, Texas A&M, UCLA, SC, Washington, Arkansas ...
EDIT: Supposedly Harbaugh's staff was out to see him at the beginning of the month, so it seems Michigan's staff rated him highly. Not a bad thing.

I have noticed that the composite ranking is sometimes way off. Parkinson is a good example. He's rated 2, 2, 3, and 5 at TE on the major services, with a top 100 ranking and three top 200 rankings. His composite is 5 at TE and higher than 200 overall.

Jaggers is LDS. Don't know if he's taking a mission. If he is, then there's no direct competition with Parkinson or Fisk.

To get a sense of the recruits who are likely to be interested in Stanford, I tend to run a search early in the year for kids who live in the West region and have a Stanford offer. I then cross-check with google to see if they have visited the campus and if they report good grades or at least strong interest in academics. Here are the guys on my list so far:
Already Committed:
Parkinson--Four star TE from SoCal
Lund--Four star RB from Utah
Others:
Davis--Five star OG from SoCal
Sarell--Five star OT from Washington
Holmes--Five star CB from SoCal
Molden--Four star CB from Oregon
Ah You--Four star safety from Utah
Fisk--Three star TE from NoCal
This list is limited geographically and to kids who already hold reported offers to make the google search more manageable, so it obviously excludes kids from other parts of the country, including Stanford's two QB candidates.

Michigan has eight TEs on the roster, Stanford has five TEs. Of UM's eight tight ends, they featured Butt who caught 48 passes for 629 yards.. Four of the remaining seven didn't catch a pass, AJ Williams caught 12, Bunting caught 4, Poggi caught 1, Hill caught 3. 68 pass receptions by TEs, more than twice as many by Stanford's TEs.
Our TE leader, Hooper caught 31 for 415 yards, and 6 TDs (twice as many as Butt). Schultz caught 10 for 121 yards, Taboada caught 5. So Harbaugh would argue that Stanford features rushing whereas Michigan features the tight end.

That's ok. I knew someone who said they went to Harvard University School of Medicine. It's simply Harvard Medical School.
