I'm willing to bet we get Meeks. In Justin Reid's video, Coach Akina refers to "2 safeties 2 CBs" in this class. Unless I missed someone, I don't think anyone else is listed as a DB in this class.

Another clue is that the Stanford football twitter announced Gabe Reid is signee #22, with Justin Reid as signee #8. They are probably numbering them in order of receiving the LOIs, so if we are already on #22, Meeks is probably the last unannounced one...

I was just noticing the same thing.  I went back and checked the StanfordFB feed... they never announced signee #18.  So unless we've got a surprise commit, it looks like we'll be getting some goods news from Mr. Meeks in a few hours.

It was never reported here because the news of his admittance was behind a Rivals.com paywall. He received the good news a couple of weeks ago.

Twenty-two is the number of the day.  It's not just about the couple of guys at the top of the recruiting rankings.  It's about the team depth that Shaw is building.  It's a process that has been ongoing since Harbaugh came to town.  Stanford has landed 139 scholarship football recruits in the 7 years from '09-'15, whereas Stanford landed a total of only 117 scholarship football recruits in the 7 years from '99-'05, a difference of more than 3 players per year.  Don't underestimate the number of hours spent and the number of air miles accrued by the coaching staff to make that happen.  Yes, it would be nice to get up to the 85 scholarship player limit, and yes, it would be very nice to have another quality NT on the roster, but let's not lose sight of the dramatic improvement that Stanford has achieved.

As notable as the depth and the talent at the top is the other schools we're beating out. We just got a kid from Louisiana to pick us over LSU. That's mind-boggling to me.

With the signing of Jay Tyler and Justin Reid, Stanford now has five players from Louisiana.  Not all of them had offers from LSU, but the Stanford brand resonates down here.
