Stanford beats #6 Texas 4-1. The one loss was by the #2 Stanford team who played two professional players from the Czech Republic. These two players just won a big international tournament in Mexico last weekend. They are 20 year old "freshmen".
I believe the first match started at 8:00am PDT. The team has two matches tomorrow with the first match starting at 6:30 PDT.

They don't even have live stats today.
ETA: I see Texas beat UCLA yesterday, 3-2. The Czech sisters lost to UCLA's Mathews/Alden.
Ruby Cochrane (entering 2026) posted her Stanford acceptance letter, saying dreams do come true.

Stanford beats both FAU and UNF 5-0. There were no live stats. I was looking around for score updates. Somewhat ironically the results were posted on the opponents X accounts more than a half hour before they showed up on Stanford's X account.
This past week Stanford beat five top 20 teams.

This weekend #3 USC and #1 UCLA lost to #6 Texas. #2 Stanford beat #6 Texas (4-1). Who will be #1 in Tuesday's poll?

I expect the votes will be split, but I think Stanford will be #1.

UCLA and Stanford split against each other, though UCLA won more recently.
UCLA has three losses (to Hawaii, Stanford, and Texas), while Stanford only has 2 (USC and UCLA)
This week end UCLA went 3-1, while Stanford went 4-0 against the same opponents (Texas, LSU, Florida Atlantic, and North Florida).
After last week’s rankings, UCLA was #1, Stanford was #2. Under most rankings, if the top ranked team loses and the #2 doesn’t lose, unless there is a brobdingnagian gap between #1 and #2, usually they will switch places. In this case, I think that’s exactly what will happen.
Things may change again next week end, as Stanford and UCLA (along with USC, Cal Poly, and Long Beach State) will play in Laguna Beach.
And, regardless, none of the in season rankings will matter much other than for seed when the only tournament that matters, the NCAA championship, is played.

And Stanford is back at #1. (Though again, they don't list the number of first place votes.)
UCLA #2, Texas #3.

There are 23 voters and each first place vote is worth 20 points, so there is a maximum of 460 points (last week, UCLA had 459 points with 22 first place votes and [presumably] one second place vote; the last first place vote went to Stanford).
This week Stanford had 457 points so that means either 20 first place votes and three second place votes (most likely), 21 first place votes, 1 second place vote, and 1 third place vote, or 22 first place votes and one fourth place vote (unlikely)

That's an informative post BC for those who follow volleyball. It surprises me about the first place votes. Of course, poll is subject to massive change after the upcoming weekend.

It seems reasonable to me. Based on the number of points (437), last week Stanford had 1 first place vote, 21 second place votes, and 1 third place vote. I think most voters would see how close the two teams were and see UCLA lose while Stanford go undefeated and switch the first place votes because that’s how these things usually go. A couple of voters likely viewed last week end as a blip and still believe that UCLA is the better overall team than Stanford (as witnessed by their recent head-to-head matchup) and kept the Bruins ahead.
In my heart of hearts, I think that on any given day we can beat any team in the country, including UCLA (in fact, we did), but that UCLA probably is the more complete team and that more often than not, UCLA is going to win. But the two teams are close. This week end will tell us a lot.

The MPSF tournament is 3 weeks away. But Stanford still has 14 matches to play in those 3 weeks including USC, UCLA, Cal Poly (x2), LMU and TCU. Lots of chances to solidify a top seeding in both the MPSF and NCAA tournaments.

Stanford vs St. Mary's. Score 1-1 at the moment. Coach tried a new team at #2s and it didn't work out.
Update: Stanford is now on track to win 4-1.

I finally got a chance to watch Stanford BVB in person this year. The weather was not ideal, but the rain did stop before Stanford started playing. They were delayed 15-20 minutes because the SMC vs. UCD duel ran long.
As noted by above, Stanford again rested some of their starters, like during the Battle of the Bay. The Cardinal swept the Aggies (dropped one set I believe), and beat the Gaels 4-1. Ofure Odigie and Ashley Vincent lost in three sets at the 2s. They won the first set, but then lost badly in the second. The third was close, tied at 11 all. But the Gaels prevailed. There were quite a few service errors on both sides, but I think Stanford had more, and more SREs, too. The Gaels managed to drop several soft shots just where neither Vincent or Odigie could get them. Well, good experience, I hope, in case they ever need to fill in.
Freshman Mikki Carlin played in place of Avery Jackson vs. UCDavis. She looked pretty good; with a little more development, I think she could be a starter next year.
There was a drone spotted hovering around the perimeter of the beach stadium; I assume it was part of the B1G+ coverage. We waved to it.

No live streams or even live scores for today's duels. Stanford beat LBSU 4-1.
They take on UCLA in a few minutes.
