Hehe, yeah, when you put it that way I can see it sounds funny. What I meant to convey is that I would expect Stanford recruits would be by definition smart, motivated, and desiring academic challenge. With that as a basis, hearing that an offered Stanford recruit is taking all AP classes doesn't increase my expectation they would commit to Stanford. You don't go from not academically focused to suddenly taking only AP classes, so I assume he's been academically inclined all along. But if you told me a commit who had never taken an AP class was suddenly signed up for 2 their senior year, I would think they're a Stanford lean and this news would give me more hope of a future verbal.
Regardless good for Carmouche. Sounds like he's got what it takes to be a Stanford man.Â

Running back. Unranked (by Scout), two offers: Air Force and Utah St. Looks like an offer from the Buddy Teevens and the Dark Time. But maybe the kid is a hidden gem and the next Jon Volpe.

He will likely be a linebacker in college. He camped at Stanford, so they know what he can do. He could be wrestling steers after practice. We may need a few less prep school types and a few more Ben Gardner/David Parry types to toughen up.

This "Stanford star recruits aren't though enough" narrative needs to stop, ASAP. Players' toughness and competitiveness is a function of what the head coach demands and inspires as much as it is from players being soft on their own. Remember, there have been concerns voiced by people close to the program that the players might be softening under Shaw.Â
That said, I loved what I saw from SS Ben Edwards and ILB Mustafa Branch on Saturday. Those guys play with great physicality and are anything but soft.

Stanford has a back that size - Daniel Marx. But he does not get to carry the ball.
Patrick Skov's stats through 2 games at GA Tech - 23 carries, 122 yards, 4 TDs. Hope he has a big game vs. ND this Saturday too.
