Saints 2015 DB prospect Chris Fredrick @BCG_1 was offered by Stanford University. #Cardinal #Saints

He is a 6'1 170lb 3 star Safety from Georgia who is currently committed to Syracuse.

Maybe this is a bad sign for Meeks and/or Justin Reid

Also maybe he has been overlooked but seems weird that we would be looking at someone currently committed to Syracuse from both an academic and talent perspective

Or simply he's the mystery recruit

Wow!

Here is the complete list:
http://highschoolsports.nola.com/news/article/7419564819742849963/parade-all-america-football-2015-team-released-in-advance-of-sunday-issue/

With Trent Irwin on the first team as well, that means:
1) We have 2 of the 3 first team WRs (interestingly, the 3rd is going to Wyoming).
2) The only teams (right now) to have as many or more verbals on the list are Texas A&M (3) and Florida St (2).  That's it.

Parade All American team - JohnR34231 - 01-30-2015

Congrats to Trent Irwin, who also made the first team.

Interesting there were 10 QB's mentioned as 1st team or Honorable Mention, and neither Ricky Town nor Josh Rosen were among them.

Yup. I am not sure this means for certain we are no longer a consideration for Justin Reid but perhaps it is an insurance move.

I think Meeks is Stanford bound.

Re: Class of 2015 - washingtonismoney - 01-30-2015

A few possibilities:

a) maybe he's in consideration on offense?
b) also, they might be thinking three safeties. Remember we were thinking we'd take Farrar, Edwards and Reid. Perhaps it's more accurate to say Fredrick is a Farrar replacement than a Reid one.

Re: Class of 2015 - OutsiderFan - 01-30-2015

Buncom and Meeks both seem to have major position flexibility, especially Buncom.

Hulk said Reid and Meeks are both Stanford-bound.  I don't think he's ever been wrong on a recruit this late in the game, right?

Re: Class of 2015 - Hank 91 - 01-30-2015

Bryce Love is supposed to be announcing today. Anyone know when?

I've heard 3 p.m., but I don't know what time zone. Not terribly helpful, I recognize...

It is going to be little awkward for him to reach around that trophy with his left hand to grab the good hat.  Makes me a little nervous but maybe that's the point.

It was.  Well played.

Re: Class of 2015 - OutsiderFan - 01-30-2015

I have to say, it's easy to get on kids for having these announcements, claiming they are just seeking attention, etc.  This ignores the fact the high schools themselves want to celebrate their students and their accomplishments because they are proud of them.

My favorite part of the whole deal was his coach saying how Bryce just today asked him what the school rushing record was.  He didn't even want to know until well after he played his last game for his school.  The coach then said he told Bryce he set the record this season.  Very cool, and so epitomizes the team before self attitude that seems to come with every Stanford football player.

The ceremony was a good reminder - Redrum - 01-30-2015

of the HS world these kids come out of.    We look at it from a different viewpoint than many or most.  The Bryce Love ceremony celebrated his character, his academics and his football achievements.  Easy to see why he was such a big deal for the school.  But a lot of these are for kids who are totally football oriented and...umm, the high school ceremonies reflect that football...football...football focus.  Watching a few of those over the years has really jaded me.  This was good to see. Lifted my spirits.

Ever?  That's a long time.  Do you remember where Hulk predicted Teyo and Amon would sign?  What about Lorig?  I sure as heck don't remember.  (I'm just naming kids who signed after LOI day because very few recruits hold out after January 30 and it's hard to remember who did.)

By the way, do we even know whether Justin Reid was admitted?

What a class this is shaping up to be

Re: Class of 2015 - Spiny_Norman - 01-30-2015

Stanford now has commitments from 2 of the 6 finalists for the Watkins Award - Frank Buncom and Bryce Love (with a possible 3rd pending Jason Reid's announcement)

First, Buncom's list of accomplishments is impressive.  His bio doesn't even list football accomplishments until line 6 (in contrast, Daylon Mack's bio starts listing football accomplishments on line 2).

Second, it pains me to see Farrar on this list.  His bio is pretty darn good too.

I loved how unanimously thrilled his school was for him.  I was worried that he'd get a mixed reaction because he was going to forsake the home state school.  It sounded like we just got a high school full of Stanford fans now.
