Please correct me if I'm wrong about this.
Beach players announce their verbal commitment to wait out the admissions process almost as soon as the get a verbal offer from coach Fuller. Beach players in general are
not admitted earlier by admissions than indoor vb players.

Stanford athletes are admitted individually not by team

I know that. I'm asking about general time frame. Beach players individually are not generally admitted before indoor players, correct?

I would think not since the national signing day for all sports other than football and basketball is the same day in mid-Nov.

Signing an NLI or financial agreement is different than being admitted, correct? Almost all athletes starting in the fall receive an admissions decision in April of their senior year. The NLI or financial agreement is contingent on the athlete being admitted.

UCLA's schedule is out:

Stanford will play them three times: in Hawaii, in LA (Mapes Beach), and at Cal Poly's Laguna Beach.

I have more hope for a national beach championship than an indoor team championship in 2026.

Given expectations, would Andrew Fuller's job be in jeopardy, for example, if they don't at least make it to the semi-finals?

Looking at that Hawaii schedule things will get sorted out very quickly among some of the country's top teams.
Nebraska reportedly has all 16 returning indoor players on its beach roster. I'm not sure that's a good idea. Some of those indoor players won't know what they are doing on the sand.

Nebraska uses the beach season as extra training time for the indoor team. I don't think they've ever had a beach-only player.

I looked at Nebraska's schedule. Three schools on it I recognize. The rest are not D1 or even D2. I suspect some of the opponents are community colleges. Their beach website says no fans allowed at home games and when I click on coaches it says no coaching staff available.

Ah, an off-season indoor training workaround allowing "in-season volume" that masquerades as a beach program lol...of course.

Wow. I guess they are getting away with it.

Simrin Adams, a Stanford recruit entering in 2027, is competing in the USA Beach U18 qualifier, with Sienna Castillo; seeded 9th.
They went 1-1 in pool A, and won a match to reach the quarterfinals. That will be played tomorrow at 9am.

Adams/Castillo won their quarters and semifinals, 2-0 each. They play for the championship at 2pm. No stream, AFAICT.

ETA: The championship match-up is with the team that beat them in pool, Leach/McCanna

My favorite is if you click on Facebook or X for the beach team, it takes you to the volleyball page. The Indoor volleyball page. I suppose Nebraska would claim effectively the sites cover “both” teams but that is basically fiction writing.
TikTok actually had 1 video of an indoor beach court on the volleyball site.
But yeah, this doesn’t look a serious enterprise - it’s simply the indoor team going trough the motions for extra practice time.

Adams and Castillo win!
Not sure if this means they'll rep the US in the FIVB U18 Championship in July, or if this is just one of several trials.
