I am now home, and have deleted a couple of ill planned posts in the last couple moments. Apparently I was thinking all recruits would know Jordan Fox, turns out I thought they would all know Jordanna Fox....both are in adult films, just depends on your preference.

Shaw said 18-20 on Saturday.  There are 17 now committed. 

Buncom, Love, J. Reid, and Meeks would be too good to be true and over 20, so that isn't happening.  I'll go Buncom, Love, and Meeks to close things out, since all these guys are admitted.  Sure would be nice to get Reid, however.

Man, Donnelly or Wilkins would have made it a spectacular class, but it can still be in the Top 20 and quite strong.

Don't forget that Canton Kamuatule and Brandon Wimbush also could have been part of the class if that darn admissions thing didn't get in the way.

Kaumatule, definitely, along with Rex Manu, Arrington Farrar, and Christian Folau, for sure.  But I always wondered about Wimpish.  Did he ever even fill out an application? Sign up for a couple of AP classes and give it a shot? If he didn't, then I wouldn't even consider him a serious candidate for our class.  Sometimes I think recruits might mention Stanford to keep their families happy, or to appear to be a serious student.  But IMO, if you don't actually put your hat in the ring and give it a shot, I don't think you can be taken seriously.

I don't know how literally we should take that cap of 20.  One way of thinking is that the number would not include Gabe Reid, who I expect is sure to commit (I think he has been accepted, right?) Though I guess since he will go on his mission he won't step foot on campus as a player for another couple of years. 

I think we still have a shot at both Reids, which would make the class 22, with one deferring for a couple of years.

Sean Barton is back from his mission so he needs to be included. No point in including Reid and Heimuli IMO.

Probably the least-surprising announcement in a while -- Frank Buncom IV commits to Stanford, the school he's been gushing over for more than a year now.

I encourage everyone to watch this. If you haven't seen him interviewed before, it's worth it. This kid is going to take advantage of everything Stanford has to offer and then change the world. Really impressive.

Buncom is a very good, bigger corner back who might resemble Alex Carter after a couple months with Turley.

He's a good tackler, strong at coming up and setting the edge or press coverage, and very football smart (a theme with this year's DBs). 

Very nice addition.  We rarely got into battles for CBs like Buncom, much less won.  It's a new day.

With Frank Buncom IV on board, the Cardinal now move up to 22nd in the Rivals Team recruiting rankings.

I watched it live, but with the sound off because I was giving a midterm. With any luck Campus Insiders will archive the video file so that I can watch it avec le son at a later date.
