The #1 2018 lacrosse recruit in the country, who has played football for only a year. Plays LB, RB, WR/TE. Not sure if this is a 2018 or 2019 offer; am seeing conflicting sources. Is committed to UNC for both football and lacrosse.

We're hoping he pulls a Josh McDaniels?

Given the context, I assumed he had reclassified.  UNC's announced 2018 football class does not include him, FYI.

Re: Class of 2019 - Papa John - 02-09-2018

Ricky's twitter page indicates that he is HS class of 2018 and UNC class of 2022. Apparently, he's committed but unsigned?

At first glance it doesn't look like he's following a lot of Stanford folks, however.

Re: Class of 2019 - ColoradoTree - 02-09-2018

If Miezan didn't sign, then he's certainly fair game.  But if he loves lacrosse that much, I just can't imagine him going to a school that doesn't have a varsity program in the sport.  Maybe he sees a more lucrative future in football, but he's certainly no "can't miss" prospect that this point, since he's just played the one year of high school football and some services don't even rate him.

Maybe he's considering a postgrad year somewhere to burnish his football credentials and try again next year?

Re: Class of 2019 -- Thibodeaux, DE from Dorsey - ADPATERSON - 02-12-2018

Kayvon Thibodeaux's Junior highlights are even better -- Powerful pass rusher, with edge containment.

If we can get him?

Re: Class of 2019 - Bruce Wang - 02-12-2018

Based on a quick review, this seems like the best set of offers Shaw has ever made.  Potential for landing 4-5* players at all position groups.  Usually there's at least one position group where we have no 4-5* prospects.  Am I wrong here?

Always true after the inevitable attrition.

I hope Shavita offer a 2019 QB.  It's nice that we landed Tanner McKee, but what if he pulls a Taysom Hill?

This is interesting. https://n.rivals.com/news/rcs-miami-players-predict-each-other-s-college-destinations

Josh Sanguinetti would be the highest rated CB recruit Stanford has landed since maybe ever?

The quotes all cite the recent visit, which is nice, but makes you wonder if his interest will stick. It's not like they're saying "He's really focused on a strong academic school" or "he's always wanted to go to Stanford".

Some other solid/high 4* DBs we've recruited (rank according to 247 composite, and I haven't seriously followed recruiting for a long time so I only know about more recent guys we got far in the process with):
Paulson Adebo #110, #14 CB
Darnay Holmes :( #22, #3 CB
David Long :( #65, #7 CB
Frank Buncom #118, #15 CB
Alex Carter #67, #5 S
Wayne Lyons #99, #5 S

Sanguinetti at #45, #4 ATH (no specified position although we all assume CB) would therefore be the highest landed DB in a looooong time.

I suspect Biggie Marshall, the CB/DB out of LB Poly, was the highest rated CB we've recruited.  Rivals had him at #1 national CB and #3 overall national recruit.Â
