Is Indiana redeemable? - Redrum - 12-04-2016

What if, say,  they sent Notre Dame packing?

I kind of like the Pitt matchup. I think it would be a good challenge for us, and since Pitt tends to score and give up a lot of points it would probably be a fun game to watch.

I tend to think Indiana would be a fairly easy victory so if our major goal is to get to ten victories that might be better. They did play Jimmy H. tough, though.

Trubisky, UNC's QB, is Mel Kiper's #1 rated QB in 2017 NFL Draft class.

With Mac and Thomas rumored to be gone, there could be three 2017 #1 NFL draft picks in this game.

Sorry, I didn't see that rumor. I've read strong speculation that McCaffrey would, and much less speculation about Thomas. I haven't read anyone saying "Yeah, I heard they're gone."

Mac and Thomas leaving?

What I find interesting is that the NFL is projecting Thomas as a 3-4 OLB.  Seems a little strange that someone would be drafted so high having to make that kind of position switch.

I wonder if Shaw might see this and convince Thomas to play OLB at Stanford next year, to solidify himself as a high round pick in 2018?  We've never seen Thomas as a stand up rusher with pass coverage responsibilities, have we?

An alternative would be for Thomas to put on 15 or so lbs. in the off season so he can be seen as a DL by the NFL.

Under both your scenarios, Thomas would be back next year. I could absolutely see him leaving next year. I just don't see an academic junior who's professed to want to graduate going this year. We'll see.

As someone linked, the rumors are both him and McCaffrey are gone. Of course it's random sites saying "sources say", so think of what you will.

Regardless, I'm going to assume they're both leaving and hope I'm pleasantly surprised.
