Amen, Prince.

And while we're at it, I'd like to suggest that we refrain from comments about people's names.  They might seem unusual or otherwise interesting to us, but they generally have deep significance to their bearers.  Courtesy and common sense are general hallmarks of this board.  Let's please keep it that way.

Geaux Cardinal!

Well, if we offer someone named Dorcas or Cheto I'm going to titter a bit privately.

Well, I did wink (at least I tried to but the emoji didn't show) after posting KJ Costello's tweet re: his support for a certain presidential candidate. So my intended commentary was to not take it seriously.

But I get that even a lighthearted post can take this thread way off-topic, so I appreciate Prince's advice and will follow it in the future.

I have a niece who made a very similar post about Trump and I responded with "I think you forgot the winky emoticon.;-) ;-)"  The double winky let her know that I was just joking but we decided to keep our political discussions limited to times when we were actually together so that we wouldn't get into any flame wars.  We'll yell at each other during family gatherings just like our ancestors did.  ;-)

Cheers,
Pete F.

I am meta-offended by this.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 07-30-2015

McCulloch came out with a top 12 that included Stanford not too long ago.  I'm not sure if this list (which still includes Stanford) is a new top 8 or if the ESPN writer is just making stuff up.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 07-31-2015

I don't know how to embed a re-tweet, so I'm just copying and pasting it.  I take this as a good sign:

David Long Jr. retweeted
Gerry Hamilton ‏@HamiltonESPN  1h1 hour ago
SAT test dates...next one is Oct. 3...34 days left to register...be prepared... https://sat.collegeboard.org/register/sat-us-dates

To embed a tweet, just copy the link to the tweet and paste.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 07-31-2015

It's not news that there's an SAT offered in Oct.  It's news that David Long re-tweeted the info in Hamilton's tweet.  (Suggests Long's planning a re-take, which is generally considered a good sign that he wants to go to Stanford.)

You say that like it's a bad thing.  And how are we going to punish the coaches that lost Josh Rosen to UCLA?

How can we "lose" something we didn't want?  No offer, if I remember correctly.

We didn't offer Josh Rosen, and I doubt if there has been a more discussed topic in 2015 than why we didn't. The general consensus seems to be that Shaw didn't think Rosen was coachable.

Re: Class of 2016 - Mick - 08-02-2015

Could you imagine what hell that would be, to have a QB with an attitudinal problem?  I'm speaking hypothetically, of course.  Can you imagine how it would bleed down the team?  It would be the worst.

Sometimes, most of the time, all of the time, a star athlete with an attitude problem, a God Complex, if you will, isn't worth it, no matter the talent.  Ref. Ryan Leaf.
