Tara will have to come up with a game plan for the next couple seasons to contain Hidalgo, Citron and Miles (when she comes back from injury) and unfortunately, see first hand what we missed out on and could have had

Arizona is leading USC by 8 with just over 4 minutes to play.

Juju fouled out with 1:41 to play and AZ with a 5 point lead.

SC tied it up at 71 with :15 to play.

This game is going to OT

I wasn't watching, but just to finish the topic, USC pulled it out 95-93.

Our win against #11 OSU tonight is another quadrant 1 win, which ties us with SC at 12.

RE: WBB 2023-2024 Season - 81alum - 02-29-2024

Both the coaches and the media picked us to finish 3rd in the Pac 12 this year.

Yeah, but some say Tara's coaching has declined and she should retire.  To them, I say:

RE: WBB 2023-2024 Season - Spiny_Norman - 03-01-2024

Jana Van Gytenbeek seems to have found her place at Baylor. This is from a story in The Athletic today about where teams stand as we approach Selection Sunday.

Quote:Senior guard Jana Van Gytenbeek has been significant as the Bears coalesce their offensive flow, stepping in as a key reserve over the past month and averaging 11.6 points and 4 assists per game over her last 5 games. She’s shooting 42.9 percent from 3 on over five attempts per game. She fights and scraps defensively and has a great nose for rebounds. Van Gytenbeek has exemplified the “sometimes you, sometimes me, always us” moniker that the Bears adopted at the height of nonconference.

Good for Jana.  I like her and wish she had stayed.

While I too was disappointed and confused when JVG left for Baylor, sacrificing the Stanford degree, maybe she saw the handwriting on the wall re: culture/chemistry issues that later displayed themselves last year? So yes, a nod to her!

With 44.8 sec left, WSU 69 Colorade 63.

And CO just missed three 3’s in a row. 22.8 left.

Final WSU 72 CO 63. Video to follow.

Watch for the final 3.

And Washington beat Utah 62-47

RE: WBB 2023-2024 Season - CompSci87 - 03-02-2024

Tough for Utah and Colorado's NCAA seeding. Not that I care about Colorado.

Me too. She would have helped.

Does anyone watch Iowa and think Caitlin Clark gets the benefit of the doubt on every single 50/50 call, block/charge whatever it may be. And Cam Brink never does. Granted Brink is so much better and more active defensively. I wish she was officiated more like the star player she is.

76lsjumb - 76lsjumb - 03-03-2024

Watching the officiating in the Iowa/Ohio State game might lead one to believe that PAC-12 refs are infallible by comparison… or that the refs in this game put big money on Clark and Iowa.

Currently Iowa has been called for 9 fouls and Ohio State 22. Ohio state also has been called for 2 technicals. Bad bad bad officiating in this one.

Clark came close to a triple double: 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 13 whines…
