So you use the first "tweet" in brackets, then the URL that you have copied, then the end "tweet" in brackets but with a backslash before the word tweet to close the tag.

"/" is usually called slash.  "\" is usually called backslash. (For instance, see here)

The BB code used here employs markers in this fashion
   [FOO]text[/FOO]
That is a slash to indicate the termination of that BB code chunk.
(Since "FOO" isn't a BB code command, it just leaves the text in that line as it is, but if that had been "img" or "url" or "tweet", it would have caused something to happen.)

Yeah it's been a tough week or so for the Ukrainians.  Ever since Popasna fell, Russia has gained a lot of ground.  I think the Russians have gotten a bit smarter about their tactics, instead of deciding where to hit a place, and pushing as many troops as possible, they are actually probing for weaknesses and attacking based on that.  All that being said, with the attrition they have suffered, and as they take more ground, I think we will once again see their logistical issues pop up again, and soon enough Ukraine will be able to take the initiative.  I think a couple weeks back I had said Russia only had about 2 weeks left where they can take land, but they were pretty conservative for the next week, and ended up losing lots of ground near Kharkiv, so I think that timeline got pushed back a bit.  Only time will tell though, and Ukraine needs to avoid losing large groups to encirclement.

Interesting POV Switchblade video- some claim its a 300 just targeting the crew sitting on the tank, others think it's a much rarer 600 given the tank target. One view is from the POV of the Switchblade, another an observer drone.

New general death, but this one is different from the others. For one this (63yo) general was flying an attack aircraft at low elevation before getting hit by a stinger. Guess the new Top Gun with old Tom Cruise isn't so unrealistic.

This guy really is Russian Maverick- was actually kicked out of the Russian Air Force a decade ago after crashing an Su-27 (that he wasn't qualified to fly and borrowed from his colonel buddy) while trying to do acrobatics. He was apparently flying for the paramilitary Wagner force rather than RuAF.

Pretty bizarre. Does Russia not have enough younger qualified Su-25 pilots? Did this guy just have some weird death wish and enough friends still in the force that he could get seat time? How integrated are Wagner jets with the actual Russian air force?

Just extremely strange all around.

It is ridiculous to me that the WGroup has enough logistics and infrastructure in place to operate their own close air support aircraft.  I don't think Blackwater flies A-10s...

It really does raise a lot of issues.  What if retired F-16 or A-10 pilots wanted to join the fight to help Ukraine, would the US think about donating those items?  I'd assume not, given how reluctant countries are to directly provide fixed wing aircraft to Ukraine, but what's the difference?  Russia can't pretend Wagner forces are mercenaries when they are operating in other countries, but Russians when operating in Ukraine.  I've also wondered why we don't give and or operate predator drones.  At this point there really shouldn't be much off the table, especially if it avoids putting active American troops in danger.

The drone question is a very interesting one, and I’ve wondered that myself whether there is a functional difference between US-supplied drones being flown by Ukrainians in Ukraine, versus such drones being flown by Ukrainians in Poland, versus such drones being flown by Americans in Poland.

I feel like we may be at a tipping point, with Russia running out of time, but also on the verge of some pretty important gains.  If the Ukrainians can hold off a bit longer, they may be able to turn the tide, but if the Russians break through, they could make major gains.

Do we have an aftermath view?  I believe the 600 uses the same warhead as a javelin missile, so if we saw the aftermath it might help us figure that out.  I've heard conflicting reports about 600 even being in Ukraine, since they are still being released, but I hope it's in Ukraine, you'll not find better QA testing than that.  I believe the drones are mostly being used by special forces, and I think either is plausible, I believe the 300's will mostly be used for hitting actual soldiers, so those dumb enough to sit on a tank, would be prime targets.  I think we will only see limited videos of these, just like we only occasionally see TB2 strike videos since the early phases of the war.

I saw in some news accounts the Ukrainians have coined a new phrase; to Macron.  It means pretending to help but not actually giving any help. I haven't looked into France's contribution to know if it is a fair characterization.

I follow some professional volleyball leagues in Europe with Russian players on the teams. The Russian athletes are using Instagram just as much as before the ban on social media via Internet by Putin. They are using VPN. Very little is said about the war with it all being pro-Russian. As far as I can tell the athletes still pretty much have freedom to travel to any European country for their sport.

For certain the crypto being used by the Americans is different. The "tactical" drones are pretty simple in that regard. One reason the US is not giving more complex high altitude recon drones to Ukraine is that they are controlled via complex satellite links that Ukraine does not have and the US would definitely not want to be compromised.

This will be very welcome for Ukraine, can outrange the Russian artillery, and Russia has not at all demonstrated the ability to establish air superiority like they would need to suppress these systems from the air.
