9:51 pm PT to be precise.  If it goes five sets it will end after 3:00am ET.  If Stanford doesn't play well, don't have to worry about anyone on the east coast watching.

I was wondering why the 1 seed was forced into this terrible time slot, while the 2 and 3 seeds got to lead off.  Seems it should be the other way around.

But this is an absolutely ridiculous start time.  TV corrupts everything it touches.

I don’t care about Eastern Time, only about Stanford Student Time. I expect this is in their wheelhouse.

Texas and Tennessee are based in the Central Time Zone.

So what?  I thought the seeding determined the timeslot?  Having the higher seed does not confer the advantage if it runs counter to the convenience of ESPN's scheduling?

ESPN: "Just doing our part not to disadvantage teams from the eastern time zones playing out west (oh - and do what we think's best for viewer ratings)...."

In the college baseball postseason, the higher seed and host chooses whether it wants to play first or second on the opening day even though those games are also broadcast on ESPN. Is that not the case in volleyball?

Or not. Another MB error.

Better. Fewer errors. Better serving. Block showed up. But I don’t think we pull this out with just Kipp and Rubin on offense.
